...We've had a few days to study the form. Who is the cleverest of the bunch.

If it was down to simple articulation I'd bask Rhona. Christine seems quite bright as well. The clique three are at the bottom of the clever list I'd say.........

i agree with christine and rhona being tops, but admit to being surprised at how articulate tara was last night. her poem was of a very high standard, very funny and apt. have a feeling nell isn't the brightest spark in the fire...not many witty comments or even conversations coming from her corner...bless

Christine and Rhona are the cleverest, I would say. Although since Nell never says anything, she could be biding her time to make her winning bid midweek next week, which could be quite intelligent.

I don't think Tara's clever - but she's far more strategic and manipulative than she lets on...

I wouldn't like to judge who is the cleverest - we haven't had that much to go on but I think Tara is brighter than given credit for. Why does everyone think she is so dim?

Must admit I was MORE than a little impressed with Tara's poem, not to mention Rhona's speech in tonight's episode, so for that I'd say those two. Christine also came across brilliantly when she was having her conversation with Rhona about women in the media, but I think that was more assertiveness than intelligence ' Shut up Nigel. No SHUT UP'

Tara's background means she probabaly has had a good academic education. Her poem was very good as well. shes academically 'clever'.
I think its interesting to compare Jade and Tara. Id say both have the same sort of character..(wants to be loved, tends to go along with the clique, gets upset if critisised), probably the same level of intelligence. the difference of course is that Jades background means she never got an education, whilst Tara's means she will have had a good one.

amazing really, that we supposedly live in a classless society, yet your class can determine your childhood development.

I think for all round intelligence Christine gets my vote . She seems to have commonsense, knows whats going on in the world and a sense of humour too. Mix this with her determination and strength of character (I dont think any of them have been through such a public humiliation as her) she gets my vote to win.

Yup, Christine is by far the cleverest. It's a pity she comes from an era/class where however clever women are, it is their duty to subsume their intelligence to their men.

Oh, how I would love to see Rhona give Christine a leture on feminism and wimmen's rights. Bring it on.

Cleverest.Thats easy!

Rhona, clever, smart (if anyone has seen her do stand up, you have to be both to be successful).

Christine, intelligent in that old woman kind of way.

Tony, smart enough to keep his mouth shut and avoid the children when having their 'tantrums'.

Nell, I'll let you know when she says something, but, like Tony, knows that if you have nothing good to say then dont say anything (if only the others could)

Darren, Nigel, Tara, Uri. A useless bunch of idiots.

I think Nigel retired from boxing just in the nick of time.

Tara's poem was like something you would hear a 9 year old write. I couldnt bear to watch it, even for her it was the most humiliating thing Ive seen someone do on TV.

Darren, another clueless muppet.

Uri made a career out of bending spoons, hey may not appear like the sharpest card in the deck, but you have to give someone credit for being able to live off of bending spoons for a living.

i can't believe that you all think Rhona is up there in the intelligence stakes. Since when did being vociferous and abrasive equate with intelligence? If she is so intelligent how come she has managed to alienate herself to so many of the group? How much intelligence is needed to come out with a pearl like ' I'm so f***ing articulate'. .... so articulate that she has a vocabulary of anglo-saxon swear words, it appears.

For my money she is just a loud-mouthed, self-opinionated whinger, with a large chip on her shoulder at being born a woman when she so clearly wants to be a man.

I expect Rhona would say she just wants to be Rhona.

Apart from that I'm with Stardancer.

Being Scottish I am totally disheartened that the TV company's choice of people to (mis) represent us.
Loud mouthed-Lynne ... solemn Sandy ... now ratty Rhona.

How do you suggest she should have dealt with Darren days tirade at her.?
Rhona was perfectly correct. When Nigel behaves like Rhona, Darren doesnt say a dicky bird towards him.
I thought she stood up to Darren very well, I mean, when someone is screaming and shouting at you like that you have to stand up for yourself. whats she supposed to do, just sit there and take it?..would you?.

Shes a lesbian. this doesnt mean she wants to be a man..gods ake.

She didn't need to deliver the fall out to everyone. She was really nasty to Tony, and without reason, and didn't even realise how deeply she'd hurt him. He shrugged it off, later, but I just went awww. And why have a go at Nell for being quiet? It's like she thinks everyone has to be just like her and think just like her to be acceptable, and I'm really glad that very few people are like her.

Wants to be a man, such as who exactly. No male role models for her in the group.

As I said she alienated herself from the group by not bowing down to their intellect, which is a brave thing to do when you are in the jungle with bunch of strangers, some of which are ignorant and conniving,.

Nothing wrong with being self opinionated, this board is a great place for people with different opinions to mouth off at each other. Being branded a whinger is a way of putting people down, instead of deailing with their complaints, they just belittle the person into saying 'all you do is moan'.

Anyway, I say fair play to her for standing up for herself. I do think she could take a chill pill and live and let live a little granted, but no more so than some of the other loud mouths there.

Maybe she should put her thoughts into a poem
, not.

She was simply pointing out that we all have faults, and we all wind other people up, it's human nature. If she hadn't of gone through all of them, she would have been accused of picking on Tara/Darren again. These people have not got to where they are without taking critism. She doesn't think everyone has to be like her, that's precisely her point - they are all different (& why they've been picked for this show), and they have to accent that they're all different & try to appreciate each other's little foibles. Darren has to appreciate that she is sarcastic & dry. She has to appreciate that Tony is dreamy & Nell is quiet etc... If they were insulted by her going through them all, then they are very thin skinned.

I did not mention her sexuality, i was merely going by the fact that she is loud, aggressive, confrotational and bullying; the sort of traits most often seen in the more macho of the species.

If it looks like a man, acts like a man, then it probably is a man .....or Rhona?

You completly missed the point . she said 'sometimes'. she was making the point that noone is perfect, everyone has there little faults and foibles. Or at least faults as perceived by others.

bullying?...the only person I saw doing any bullying was Darren Day. Rhona tried to stay calm and non confrontational, but he just kept going on and on about it, untill she gave back as good as she got, better in fact. She was standing up to a bully, not being bullying herself.

I would have agreed with you up till yesterday however, but she opened my eyes to whats going on, and I am humble enough to admit when Ive been wrong about someone, and Ill say it now, I was well wrong about her, I think shes is great and what she said yesterday in her 'speech' was spot on!.

did you not watch the whole scene?, or read my whole post??
she was exactly as I said at first, but there comes a point when someone is screaming and shouting at you when you have to react!. she tried talking to him calmly but he was off on a rant and wouldnt stop. so she reacted as I think most of us here would react to someone screaming and shouting at us like he was.

Of course I read your whole post....strangely I decided to believe the scenes I saw for myself last night, rather than be swayed by your articulate arguements.

so you saw what.?
I saw..
Rhona sitting whilst Darran Day ranted and raved at her. Rhona saying calmy 'its not that important, tell me what your problem is'.
More ranting from Darren day...Rhona, still calm says 'Darren, just tell me exactlyy what your problem with me is'?.
More shouting and screaming from Darren, untill it got to the point where Rhona had to let fly as well. and I dont blame her at all. He WAS a total ******** imo. 'Im a man of the streets' argghhh...!!!..go away!!
