Originally posted by meteormadness Tara didnt bitch behind Rhonas back, she came out and told her to her face, which was the start of another argument. Rhona was annoyed because she was about to do her buried alive bit, BUT Rhona did the same to Tara when Tara had passed her trail and got the group 8 meals.Christine & Rhona I love, Tara, sorry, but comes at the bottom of my list, right along with Nigel & Darren. I'm definitely sticking up for Rhona now. Those three are so obvious with their little clique, going of to bitch about her, and she obviously knows what's going on, is it any wonder she's tetchy with them? I loved Taras poem, that was good. |

Rhona has obviously been irritated by the huge egos of Nigel and Darren, but she seems to have a real chip on her shoulder about the "is it because I'm a woman" belief. It's too easy for her to claim that any criticism of her is due to the fact she's an assertive woman. But I do think that sometimes her sense of humour is misunderstood by others. She is very cynical and such a dry wit but it can be misinterpreted.
However, I also think that Nigel and Darren just find it impossible to believe that any woman could not want to get into their pants. In their minds they are totally irrisistible - and this illusion is reinforced by Tara's attitude towards them. - Darren to Tara "I was trying to protect you" - displays his opinion of himself as the strong, hansome male coming to the rescue of a damsel in distress. He knows that he can't behave like that with Rhona and there lies the conflict. I think if Nigel and Darren were capable of treating Rhona like a mate (equal??) rather than viewing all women in the same mould and Rhona was capable of leaving her 'feminist' issues aside they would find life a lot easier. Impossible I know, and anyhow - what we're watching is great T.V.
