I actually got to like Christine but tonight she first wound Rhona up by telling her about Nigels beliefs, knowing full well that Rhona would react like a bull to a red rag. Then she went to nigel and wound him up about Rhona and his beliefs hence the impasse, she is two faced and another Adele. Watch out for her.

Right you are Conner - She was my favorite - She is now revealed as a stirring cow. Cup of homophobia vicar?

Maybe she doesn't want to hand over the "battleaxe" title to Rhona?
Not that I think Rhona is of course, but maybe Christine wanted to be the controversial one?

Tonight we finally got to see the real Christine Hamilton and. for the first time I understand what the press was on to.

I was very , very supportive of her until I watched her consciously provoke Rhona tonight by telling her Nigel was homophobic. She kindled that fire knowing what the result was to be.

I now realize that Christine had a game plan and has been playing a role which slipped this evening. She is working on controling who goes out and her first candidate is Rhona. Remember there will be a king and queen at the end. Christine realizes she just needs to get the other women out. The most vulnerable to date is Rhona and she started working her plan by saying the camp will be a better place without Rhona thereby aligning herself with the camp against Rhona. Next will be Tara and it will be very interesting to see how she plays Nell.

Watch this woman!!! I She has a plan and is manipulative. She is clever and subtle. I did not realize it till the jolly hockeysticks broke this evening.

Yep, think you're absolutely right, I too loved Christine when it started, but I think she's playing a tough game & I think Rhona's out of her depth with these people who are obviously in this to win the title.

What a load of twaddle.

Btw, there's going to be a King OR a Queen - not both.

Adele should be watching a master at play, Christine has 30 years on Adele and it shows. Whereas I wanted Adele out because she was only a cub CH is a fully grown lioness and it will be a pleasure watching her hunt, stalk and slaughter her prey.

Ah - Faequeen - I knew you'd stick up for her. Why didn't she own up to causing the trouble? If she told Nigel tha she had told Rhona that he was homophobic he coul dhave apologised for the misunderstanding. Christine is to blame......The tory has come out...

on this occasion I think you're wrong. I don't think Christine CALCULATED the effect of what she was going to say to Rhona. I think all she tried to do, very very kack handedly, is explain to Rhona that part of the conflict between she and Nigel stemmed from his christian beliefs, and when asked to explain herself she dug the hole rather too deeply.... I think she was mortified that Rhona immediately started to spit at Nigel to provoke him... she was on an all out assault on Nigel and he must have wondered where all this was suddenly coming from. Christine by now must have been thinking 'oh for god's sake... Rhona, I wish I'd never said anything!'. After that the others wanted to know who said what to Rhona and poor Christine just couldn't bring herself to own up fully... I think we'd have responded exactly the same way as Christine. After what Rhona did, she is no friend of Christine now... no more sympathetic ear or supporter methinks, despite what Christine said later about wanting to hug her. Call her a bloody fool more like.

So I think we are in danger of seeing more into it than there was, and I don't think Christine is scheming in any way... I just don't see it.

I don't 100% blame Christine for not fessing up - Darren would have run straight to Nigel with his tales, and I wouldn't fancy being on the recieving end of their abuse...

I don't know what Christine was up to. I'm prepared to suspend judgement until we see what pans out...

And yet on the basus of 6 heavily edited shows you believe Rhona to be the most vicious verbal bully who ever lived, despite never seeing what it was that she had alledgedly said to upset Nigel and Darren (the heroic duo standing up against the evil witch - with only there phisical strenght to subdue her).......

I think it was actually more when Christine was speaking to Rhona she didn't really think about what she said before she said it. And likewise when she mentioned it to Darren - and then probably realised that she'd made a bit of a whoopsie. Just backing out looking to change the subject after that I think. heh

I totally agree with you Mr_Ray. I don't think she realised how het up Rhona was getting because of what she was saying.

I do not think I would of owned up to it either - I've heard Rhona yelling at others and certainly would not want her yelling at me because of trouble I had inadvertantly started

I'm a coward like that ...

i quite like christine although of course it was a very stupid thing to do but i do think it was genuinely a mistake rather than actually planned, it seemed she regretted saying it and was trying (although very unsucessfully lol) to smooth things over

i think she has always tried to keep things cool and keep everyone friendly, of course with the personality differences that is never gonna happen ever

i think one of the real trouble causers is darren who has really got up my nose from the start and always seems to make a big issue from everything and generally just gets people mad

sorry , i totally disagree with you. christine seemed to be reminding rhona that ...
don't forget nigel is a born again christian, which means he is against homosexuality and this could be why he is being unreasonable.....
she quite rightly assumed that someone of rhona's intellect ( remember she is a spokesperson for gay rights ) would have known what the religious stance on gays is, and was merely reminding her of this. christine looked mortified when rhona started to rant at nigel about his beliefs....and i don't blame her for keeping quiet when asked by darren if she knew who had told rhona that nigel hates gays.in fact christine never once told rhona that nigel hates gays or that he had vilified rhona for being gay, she only told her what his beliefs were likely to be.
christine is still my fave by a long way, unfortunately , tara is losing the comedic role and becoming a bit of an "it" girl again.

She quoted an exact reference from the bible, and implied (inferred) that it had come from Nigel.
Nigel hadn't been talking to Rhona - He'd clearly been slagging her off behind her back to the other - So when Christine said that it was clear to Rhona what had been said. Red rag to a bull (or a comedy cow some would say - although unfairly).
Later we see Nigel talking to Darren say "She's wants to be a man because she's a man in her relationship" - So Nigel isn't innocent.
Christine is notorious for lack of tact - Hopefully this is a lesson learnt.
You're right about Tara.

i almost agree with you with regards to christines lack of tact.i think her problem is that she says things in a context that she would understand and act on etc, unfortunately not everyone is as quietly assertive as she is. she perhaps needs to consider who she is talking to b4 telling them something which is potentially volotile.

I don't think Christine was intentionally trying to cause trouble by bringing up the issue of homosexuality in the Bible to Rhona but I think it sucks that she didn't own up to it when Darran asked who had mentioned it. I just wish someone, besides Rhona, would stand up to Nigel.

We have to bear in mind as well that Christine is a Tory MPs wife (although a disgraced one). She does seem liberal but she would have had years of garden parties and woman's institute meetings talking to the hardcore Conservative grass roots. Homosexuality would have had to have been mentioned at some point...........

Nonsense. Christine has, generally speaking, been the voice of reason all through. In contrast most the others have been voices of anger, Nell's the voice of.. well she has no voice, and Uri's the voice of weirdness.

Christine though, is very groovy and without a doubt the best behaved all round person there.

How when throughout the first five days of this programme, Nigel and Rhona have picked arguments with everybody, that some of you posters think Christine is to blame beggers belief. If she added to what might have been their final argument I am sure it was not calculated. I also can't believe that Christine was not telling Rhona something new about christian teachings on homosexuality, which I might add does not necessarily make christians homophobic. I think Rhona and Nigel to a certain extent went there with too many pre concieved ideas and issues.
