It's probably been done a hundred times before, even on this forum, but I was wondering what are people's favourite episodes/stories? Thought it would be interesting to do now that we have some newwho to add into the mix.
Name your top 3.
My favourites are:
1. Inferno
2. Genesis of the Daleks
3. The Deadly Assassin

Numbers 2 and 3 change frequently, but number 1 has enjoyed it's slot for at least 15 years.

My favourites seem to change every now and then but at the moment I would say my top three would be;

The Moonbase
Horror of Fang Rock
Resurrection Of The Daleks
Yeah I forgot about "Robots of Death", that would have to be number 4.

From the old series:
The Seeds of Doom
Caves Of Androzani (Sharaz Jek was magnificent).
Genesis Of The Daleks

From the new series:
I think the episode "Dalek" was my favourite.

It's funny, one of my earliest memories is a scene from "Day of the Daleks". I would have been no more than 18 months old. I've been a fan ever since, mind you I don't rate "day of the Daleks" very highly.

Is "The Seeds of Doom" the one with the pods that turn into giant plants? I remember liking it, but I haven't seen it since it was first broadcast. Thankyou Colebox, you have just identified an important gap to be filled in my DVD/Video collection!

It is indeed; not yet out on DVD sadly, but it can be found quite often turning up on ebay on VHS.

This is one that scared me the most as a child; the poor man turning into the Krynoid...

Yes I can remember being quite frightened as well! I seem to remember the cliffhanger one week was the man turning into the Krynoid.

Remember going to the Dr Who Exhibition in the late 70's in Blackpool.
My 7 year old brother started screaming and would go no futher - he would not walk past the Krynoid .....

3.That one where the Doctor and Ace and the Cybermen and that weirdo from the 17th century and the "Silver Arrow" or something. Anyway, that one.

When you say don't ask that means that I must. Why do you like "The Horns of Nimon" so much? I admit I liked it at the time, but I saw it again recently and it was not how I remembered it. There are far worse stories though and it would be boring if everyone said "Genesis of the Daleks".
I would genuinely like to know the what appeals to you about the story if you would like to share.
I can remember going to the Dr Who Exhibition at Madame Tussauds, there was a Nimon exhibit there which I found quite frightening.

I liked "The Empty Child" too.
Your third choice, is it "Battlefield" or "Silver Nemesis"?
I did see it at the time but they were wilderness years for me and Doctor Who.

Wow! That's an endurance test isn't it? It's a pity more Patrick Troughton stories didn't survive. I have liked much of what I have seen and he shouldn't be remembered for "The Dominators".

It's back!

Right on the front, between Seaworld and Louis Tusaud's. They allow photography in some areas.

What's saddening is that they have a display of dead exhibits like the original K9 which was burnt to a crisp and some costumes/props which have decayed, but they have some of the new aliens, a heavy weapons Dalek and lots of other stuff which wasn't in the old exhibition.

Now all we need is someone to resurrect the Jerry Anderson exhibition which was also in Blackpool one year.

I must admit that, although many other actors have played the part magnificently, PT will always have a special place in my heart.

Watching him play the Doctor brings out the big kid in me - he manages to encapsulate that childhood sense of wonder and fun in his performance - all the time hiding his keen intelligence until it is most needed.

Wargames was never a chore for me - I'll happily have it as one of my favourites. If nothing else, it gave us the first real insight into the Doctor's background.
