I'd like to talk a bit about "I'm a Celebrity....get me out of here".

But I never started a thread about it as I thought that the moderators might think it off topic.

If anyone wants to start talking about it more then I'm game.

Well, I can't believe that anyone has found anything interesting to even think about let alone talk about in regards to IACGMOOH
No wonder Nell has kept quiet, obviously she's not prone to swearing at people, because Im afraid the only thing I could have thought of saying to the three protagonists Nigel Darren and Rhona would have been "f*****f, f*****f and f*****f.
Here we have a programme about eight people stuck round a camp fire for two weeks, a few metres away is the studio camp, a few metres in another direction is where they go to do their tasks, which are supposed to be a real test of endurance when it's all just trash tv.
The tasks feature close views of Ant & Dec looking wary and concerned which is cringe making.
The events within the group have centered throughout on the swamp level bickering about the divisions between Rhona Nigel and Darren, divisions which boil down to which one of the three of them will emerge as the one to have the last say, which will only serve to enlighten us all as to which one of the three of them will emerge as the biggest w****r. They are all three devoid of any perception of anyone outside of themselves, so have no intelligence, Rhona has nothing to give so spends her time looking at other people's shortcomings and pointing them out, Darren spends his life watching out for anyone who does'nt fancy him and either having a go about it, or ignores anyone who he would not want to fancy him, Nigel, finding himself with insufficient brain cells, decides that taking over everyone and everything and bending all to his will will remove any need to
interact with people who may have their own minds and confuse him.

This trash tv will remain so until these three are ousted, and then we might get two or three days of maybe getting an interesting conversation amongst the remainder, but it will still be a trash programme.

Well, it looks like you have something to say, despite saying that you can't believe anyone has anything to say about it.

The fact that they are acting like they are doing, makes it all the better for me. There's something comforting to know that celebs are even more insecure than the BB housemates.

Even if the show is trash, it's good to talk about that and slag it off a bit. It's good to compare with BB, and pick apart the flaws in the programme.

I've got the suspicion that there has been a few set pieces. Something about it seems a little fixed. I could be wrong though.

Anything 'INTERESTING' to say, is what I said and meant!!

Yeah, at least two of them are insecure about having the personas they have built up in public being shown up, and yet still allowed Rhona
to lead them to it...note she didn't dare try it on the members who actually possess brain cells.

Lots of little quirks that must mean there are plenty of little fixes, the whole show is set up badly though.

Well for me, anything that they say, no matter how dumb and banal it may seem, is interesting to me. It still reveals something on one level or another.

You actually hit the nail on the head when you mentioned a couple of them trying to protect their media personas.
I definitely find that aspect interesting. The very fact of them attempting to give off a certain image, seems to inadvertedy expose their fakery.
Darren Day and his "street" image is one obvious example.
Even if I'm not happy that they behave how I wish them to, I definitely find interest in what actually happens, and how the show works, even if it's badly done.

I'm even interested to figure out the reasons why the celebrities decided to do the show. To think that celebrities perhaps use a reality show as possible help for their career, when the average BB contestant gets slated for doing the same thing.
It's not as though it's bound to work for them in that way, it's too much of a risk.

Your'e right, it is still interesting,I was wrong, just annoyed really.
These shows do represent a lot of new learning.

Darren Day's cockney accent is fair enough, until when he waded into the 'swamp' and continued to speak at first, with
a northern accent.

It's just that now and then certain things don't seem to ring true.

One example would be the first little barney that Darren Day had with Tara.
It was that day he accused her of dismissing him when he had been "protecting" her.

He was going on at her, but he just seemed to be completely acting out a scene.
The way he was waving his arms about about just seemed too mechanical, and he just didn't convince me.

I'm not saying that the producers simply told them to act out an arguement for the sake of the cameras, but if they didn't, then Darren himself took it upon himself to be all overdramatic.
Don't know why, as he just looked like a little baby.

There's a few little scenes such as that, that occur form time to time which just bring out the sceptical side of me.

Well if you're annoyed, then at least the show does something good for you.

No Darren Day's cockney accent is not fair enough. It's bad..really bad.

I'll have to listen out for his regional fluctuations.(did it really go all northern?)

I'll have a chat with you in the other forum about Darren and his amazing personality, or else Drama_girly will get very cross.

I agree. If anybody is acting there it's definitely him. Dunno if you'll see this though as you're off to the other one.

It's okay, I see ya.

By the way, have you seen any incidents that seem a little staged?

I don't know what to do with myself, should I go there, should I stay here?

I saw Maxii summoned you over here!

The editing seems ropey, why I have that opinion I don't know. Can't put my finger on it. I don't think they want us to form our own opinion or is that too cynical? It's mainly the interaction between Tara and Darren that seems staged. I think Tara is being Tara and not being an actress at all...two years ago I met her at a club for the first time and she was chatting away about how she is going to sort her life out, cocaine is out of the window and how much happier she is. She just chats away and is quite likeable and open.

Darren seems a little theatrical like you say, you know the whole 'Where I come from loyalty is everything...you're flakey blah blah' whilst waving his arms about and the whole code from da streets stuff.
Except they're in the jungle now. Someone ought to fill him in.

I'll see you on the other one.
