The reason I ask this is because of the way the voting system works.

She's been the most invisible, so therefore isn't she likely to be the last person people think of generally when voting?

I do like this way of voting someone out, however, as it's harder for a fix to occur. You can control who you want to keep, but it's much harder to manipulate someone to go.
At least while the numbers there are relatively high anyway.

People like Nigel and Rhona are more vocal, and will have a few fans for kicking up a fuss. But in this method of voting, if the quiter celebs don't immediately spring to mind because people simply forget who's there, then they could get kicked off, nice as they may be.
It's not the same as voting for obvious ones to go like in BB.

Although Nell is my favourite, I really wouldn't be surprised to see her score quite low on the votes, for the reason I described.

I think the voting system is really screwed-up. Assuming Nell isn't just shy and her game-plan was just to keep out of trouble to avoid being voted-off (and that would have been a good plan) then there is no way she'll win under this voting system. Because she has made no real impact on the viewers she's more than likely gonna get completely overlooked when the public are voting.

If they use it in BB, the quiet people may not survive long at all.
Which is possibly a good thing if you like conflict, a bad thing if you like nice people to win.

I think it's quite likely she'll be gone tonight, and it won't be any great loss. The voting system is the same as for Pop Idol, and if they had to vote contestants off, Will, Gareth and Darius would all be gone within weeks, totally defeating the point of the favourite winning. I'm pleased voting is working this way. A final few days with Nell, Tony and Tara would be truly dull.

I think this really goes to show just how much a slightly different voting system can totally alter the results. Just like in the rest of life, really.

Basically, assuming the previous voting model of voting against people, the quiet innoffensive ones, perfect example being Nell, had a great chance of at least getting in the final few. Apathy is your friend - while nobody will probably like you that much, fewer still people will hate you.
The way it is though, the loudmouthed attention-grabbers stand a better chance of seeing it through to at least the halfway point. Although they will certainly grab a lot of detractors, they'll also earn themselves fans. In this case, apathy is your enemy, controversy your friend.

(It seems to me actually, that this "voting off" model that we were expecing might work wonders in the world of politics. Who knows )

It seemed to me at least that the celebs weren't actually aware it'd be working this way - hell, the silly sods didn't evn know what day the votings off started! Perhaps "Nell, evil genius of the jungle" is secretly seething and cussing to herself, seeing her cunnigly fiendish plans laid to waste? Expect the distinct possiblity of a murderous ramapge from Nell today to make up for lost time... well, maybe

I agree - plus I don't think she deserves to win anyway since she has provided no entertainment value whatsoever.

See your point, I hadn't thought of them resetting the votes nightly. I guess the system will be open to a lot of criticism since the utlmate winner may not have acrued the maximum total of votes over the week - quite strange.

Yes, the thing with this voting system is that you can vote for your favourite multiple times, but if you want someone off the island you have no chance of having any influence.

You can multiple vote till the cows come home, but it would have no bearing on who other people are voting for.
There'll be one b*stard on there who you can't stand, and there's absolutely nothing you could do to get them off.

yes i think that it will be either nell or tony...probably nell. the only things i have herd her say are... lets toast to everyone being nice and i don't talk about religion. doubt that this repartee will have spawned a huge fan base !!

If nell leaves tonight the bookies will make so much money. Some of them had to stop giving odds on Rhona leaving tonight because some many people were betting. Nell is their favourite to win- next to tony blackburn.

Nell has a good chance of staying a long while, primarily becasue of her invisibility. Once it gets to the last few the sooner she will go because she has contributed so little.
No way will Nell win.

I think the bookies made a MASSIVE mistake with their predictions.
I'm sure that they assumed that the voting system would be identical to BB. i.e. you vote who you want to go.

Even the "jungle-mates" are still trying to figure out the method of calculating the votes.


p.s. Does nobody like Nell? I think it's refreshing to see a celeb who doesn't go on about themselves. It's a change to see one of them keep their mouth shut for a change.

I don't dislike Nell at all - let's face it, what is there to dislike? However, I would never vote for her, as she simply hasn't done anything to make me feel much about her one way or the other. Of course, I am female & straight, so I might feel differently if I really fancied her! Still, I would imagine that most people are voting on the basis of personalities, & so, well, we can't vote for Nell, can we? We don't know what her personality is like!

Rhona asked Ant and Dec what they meant when they said it was between her and Nigel, and they told her that she and Nigel had the lowest number of votes. When they go through all the names then, are they doing it in order of success in the vote?

If so, I wish I'd taken more notice. I know Tony was first. Nell and Darren were just above Rhona, I think.

I don't think it is so much that they're in order, that's just their evil teasing ways. After all, they don't normally run through every single name. Who knows though, the'll never actually tell us the real standings, so it's a moot point.

For example, wasn't Nigel pretty high up in the list when they read the results out yesterday? And so was Rhona. And they said that Darren was the second lowest. What the hell was meant to have happened today that turned everyone against Nigel? I thought he behaved better today than he's ever done.

Yes, you're probably right. SInce they've been so secretive about every other aspect of voting, for whatever reason, they wouldn't give away that kind of information.

As for Nigel being thrown out after being better behaved, I suppose it's just the weird voting system. Voting in instead of voting out. It'll probably throw up strange results.
