Nigel's challenge
rgosling
03-09-2002
I thought this was a bit of a let down. He only did an hour (which I appreciate was difficult), but there was little to explain why he stopped etc.
Little or no build up beforehand made it all feel a bit of a letdown

Agreed - I thought he was going to spend the whole night in the jungle. An hour hardly counts as a significant ordeal.

and he knew that he was being watched over and that someone was close at hand to deal with any emergency... so hardly alone, and as you say Cybele, hardly the ordeal we had anticipated! Potentially this could have been the best task, but was a total flop. Even Nigel didn't think that much of it I don't think.

A&D said that he had to do 15mins for each meal which is 2 hours so I think he may have chickened out.
Mind you all those cracking branches underfoot were most definately the crew stirring up 'atmosphere' - same as Rhona's 'hand'.

so.... Nigel really must have chickened out! The crew in camp also seemed surprised he was back so early. AN HOUR??????? Which explains the way in which the whole thing was very understated, yet which could have been provided some good footage... oh well, they are celebrities.

Yeah, I was confused by the two hour thing. They definitely said 15 minutes for each meal which would make 2 hours. Then after an hour he was finished and had food for everybody?? Does that mean 8 meals or does that mean 4 meals with enough food for everybody?

Not impressed by that trial at all!

Nigel looked a little bit zonked out when he came back to camp- they said 15 mins per portion and that he stopped after an hour so that meanshe only got 4 out of 8 surely ?

Hey, these are B-list celebrities. You dont really expect them to be treated like Joe Public do you ?

That's right. I'm sure that when it was fist mentioned, they mentioned spending a night in the jungle, on a couple of occasions.

Maybe they meant by "a night in the jungle" as spend some time out during "a night in the jungle"......Or something.....
