For much of the first week,people loved the child-like qualities of Tara and her energy for life.Many said they didnt expect to like her but in fact warmed to her.
Suddenly people are dissapointed with her!

Children DO behave like this.They are unpredictable.They cry.Then they laugh. They do write little notes. They do wear their hearts on their sleeves.
They do sometimes speak first and think later.[and she didnt tell Christine to f*** off..if you've a tape,re-wind it]

It's as if people want to pick and choose what bits of Tara they want her to exhibit. Take her as she is. Dont remould her or she isn't Tara but a caricature or photo-fit of what we want.
If you want a different Tara to who she is then dont like her.
Go with the "exciting" Nell,go with the straight-talking Christine[not] go with the kind Tony[not]

Uri's insight on her last night on radio was spot on..she is a rare and remarkable person who's reminded us all of the child in us and yet has a very adult-side to her too.Read thru the "gloss" at her website and you'll also see that she is very perceptive and intuitive.

Yes she WILL throw the toys out of the pram but if you once liked her, pick them up [as Nigel did who incidentally IS rabbit year,so yes she did run off to the rabbits as someone posted earlier]

And the person who said she lacked certain feminine physical attributes[her front] I thought that stone-age view of women had gone.Obviously not.We come in many shapes and colours.
Tara looks pretty good to me.But she's alot more than that.She hasnt been considered a society beauty without good reason.Its called charm and personality not what's out front.

I agree with the original post in this thread entirely. Tara does not have a bad bone in her body.
Her child like qualities are why people liked her, but , as soon as this quality manifests itself negativly, people suddenly change.
I think Tony and Christine especially were extremely unfeeling and callous in their piss taking of her. Then showed no humanity at all. pah.
Nigel....went up in my estimation immensly.
Rhona also seemed to realise that Tara was genuinly in a bad way, but then seemed to get annoyed when Nigel comforted Tara.Saying 'well..im not chasing after her any more'. cmon Rhona...ya better than that.

I forgot to add that in BB there was much horseplay and fun.One might say that there were those in BB who were child-ish but what Tara is might be called child-like. Some of the HMs in BB looked ridiculous at times whereas in Tara's case it seems more natural and innocent. A subtle difference but I think its so.

It more a case that she not the centre of attention anymore. Her childlike behavior has always been abaout - "Look at me, see what I can do. I'm a big girl" and her desperate need for attention. Deprived of it she resorts to crying and accusations. She a dangerous 31 year old spoiled rich girl and she needs to go.

I think that your judgement is very harsh Meso'. What ever the rights and wrongs of her upbringing, lifestyle and breeding it is quite clear that she is the least well equipped of the JMs to cope with an adverse environment.

A clue to her behaviour is when she said "its just like Lord of the Flies". She now identifies with the victim "Piggy" in this classic piece of fiction. Quite rightly, in my view, she feels that she is being picked on by the group and singled out for criticism and mockery. If I recall the book correctly it concludes with the mental and physical destruction of said Piggy.

I feel desperately sorry for the girl. All she has done is try to be liked. Her antics around the camp have been completely innocent and if she has an issue with any of the JMs she seems to take it up with them face to face rather than behind their backs.

Its not very nice being excluded or patronised in a group and this is what they seem to be doing to her.

Given her background I think its pretty courageous of her to put herself through this pantomime. Give the Lass a break.

I think that the crux here is that some of them don't think that she's completely innocent ... hence their feelings towards her.

Can't agree about being sorry for her. I met her once and 5 minutes later hated her. She was/is a wannabe bitch (but not popular enough for celebrity status). Even if she 'tried' to be freindly to me I would tell her take a walk, becuase basically, she isnt a nice person, she doesnt want friends, she wants people that will satisfy her ego.

That is what she is. If people in the group can't handle that, why should they bend over backwards to keep her happy? Thats what they tried to do I think, well until recently anyway

I met her at a fashion show in London Fashion Week 2000. She was 'modelling' some clothes for a small label called fake (how ironic her wearing the clothes). I have already pointed out my opinion of her, and I feel that enough details for you.

Tara is being singled out for being different, which she surely is. She's refreshingly open and, perhaps, having been in rehab makes her very self-analytical as she certainly seems to search for flaws in herself as well as in others.

I quite agree, Pedro. Tara has been very honest about her feelings towards others, and been very genuine & open in attempting to patch up the rows. She does seem a little mentally fragile, but that is reason for consideration from the stronger members of the group, not ridicule & sneering. I like the girl. She comes across as a sweet individual, certainly a bit flaky, but fun & genuine.

Again, you suggest everyone in the team should bend over backwards and appease her.

Well they tried that for a week, and now they have had enough.

She was open-mouthed last night, not open to patch up anything. In fact in contrary to what you say, she ran away instead of facing up to people when they had things to say.

All I can say about Tara is... that her problems started along time ago which has made her the person she is today. (Interesting analysis of her you made, zzenzero). But the reason she acts like she does is cos she's been taking too many drugs in her time! She admitted she had a cocaine habit! And it tells on her personality now! No wonder, she has no mates! She's bloody wierd! I'm not even tryna be funny! I feel sorry for her! I just hate drugs. It changes your personality! ...and she has been effected by heavy use of them. She only has herself to blame. She is now an emotinal mess and that's what drugs do to you! She obviously finds it hard and doesn't even know how to act in public anymore! She shouted out she is sick of being humiliated and that says it all! Her constant tantrums are crazy behaviour, but when she's sees other people doing things she hates, she confronts them. That is her adult side, but the thing is... she doesn't realise and is totally oblivious to the way she acts herself, which is not mental stability!
The shame of it is, I think she once was a lovely person, but now we see a hurt and needing attention, needing to be loved once again Tara, but with that lovely person coming out sometimes. She can be adult, but she is also very childish. Basically, her personality is messed up, man! (As Darren would say!)

I don't even know what Darren was playin at when he was messin about with her and leadin her on when he has a babe like Adele. I don't think he has helped her at all while she's been there and he has a lot to answer for (when he sees Adele) Give him hell, adele! Hey that rhymes. Cool! I think a lot of Tara's emotion was about him. She just needs a friend and i take my hat off to Nigel for comforting her in her hour of need! No-one else cared. Says a lot for Nigel's compassion. The rest have obviously had it with her! They can't tolerate her anymore and that's why she has no friends! I hope she goes tonight for the sake of her sanity. If she stays it makes good viewing but you have to be concerned for her state of mind! If she stays, Darren needs to go! Basically, she will always be an emotional mess. She will meet someone else next month who will get sick of her emotional state and so she will get just as weepy over him. Sorry Tara, you've only yourself to blame. You'll never be the person you were! which is a pity... cos we sometimes see a nice loving person inside! But you are just too messed up for people to take you serious!

If you are the sort of person who can tolerate a grown mature woman breaking down for no good reason at unpredictable moments and having crying and stamping and swearing tantrums like a 3 year old, then that's fine. Just don't think that the majority of adults find this sort of unpredictable and in my view intolerable behaviour acceptable. Nor should they.

In my view, as others, Tara's syndrome is simply an extreme example of bad upbringing. We learn as we get older what sort of behaviour is innappropriate. No one seems to have done that for Tara, but she is old enough now to distinguish what is acceptable behaviour.

This me me me me me, don't hurt me, let me play, why do you look at me like that, why do you spoil my fun, why can't I do what I want without being judged, why can't I just go shopping and spend spend spend without comment, why can't I get drunk and behave like an idiot without judgement, why can't I swear at people and be forgiven every time, why can't I, why can't I..... well you can Tara, but expect people to think you are just a spoilt bitch and walk away.

I tseems people will forgive Tara for anything - Mostly on the frounds that she knows no better and has a big heart. As for Tara, she is one mixed up little girl in the body of an upper class socialite, prone to behaving like a child BUT at least you know where you are with her, I beleive she is very honest, possibly to honest and open for ehr own good hence some very silly choices in her life.

I am very disappointed in Christine after a strong first showing. She seems to make assumptions and then pass them off to the gullibles (Tony and Nell) as pure fact and thay take it. She was the one who implanted the Nigel is homophobic seed after adding 2 + 2 and getting 5. Now she's stating her views on tara as some sort of foregone fact, quick to share with the others Tara's notes to Darren which yes were childish, inappropriate and her mistake to make.

In defence of Tara when Christine bitches about her doing nothing all day- what the hell does Christine do? Christine only makes her living from being a freakshow. Tara does quite a lot, she has recently designed the rooms in a hotel.
