Hope some of you people can help a novice.

I have purchased a Toshiba 20 WLT56B (with Freeview incorporated) and have as well a Philips DVDR3300H with 80 gig disk.

Cannot get the Recorder to recognise the Digital signal, With a standard scart from EXT1 on recorder to AV1 on the Tosh the you can play DVDs and record the analogue signal.

Another starnge symptom with this set up is that the TV will not come out of standby if it has been switced off, and after a minute or two plays only sound no vision.

I thought I was reasonable technically but this one has me beat.
Any help would be appreciated.
