Has anyone else received a text from Virgin with regard to free texts?

From 28 April until the 30 September you can text other Virgin mobiles for free, has a limit of 1000 per month.

Wonder if this is in retaliation for easyMobiles 1p/text offer.

This will eventually become reality on Virgin Mobile.

I'm pay as you go to. I got the text but my mum (on virgin) didnt so we'll see i suppose whether its going to be a nationwide promotion or selected customer promotion only

Conditions

1. From 28 April to 30 September Virgin Mobile customers can send up to 1000 free texts from or within the UK per calendar month to another Virgin Mobile customer's number, excluding group text (28 April to 31 May counts as one month). So, for relevant texts sent within the promotional period, if you are a Pay As You Go customer you won't be charged for them, and if you are a Pay As You Go customer with a bundle or a Pay Monthly customer relevant texts will not reduce your allowance and you won't be charged for sending any relevant texts in excess of your monthly allowance.

2. We're offering this promotion to our customers for their private use. If we reasonably suspect you're abusing this offer for commercial purposes we may cancel your agreement with us immediately without notice - you're probably acting illegally anyway.

3. You cannot roll over any of the entitlement to 1000 texts which are unused in any month.

4. We reserve the right to monitor customer usage of this promotion.

5. We reserve the right to change or withdraw all or any part of this promotion if it becomes uneconomical, technically impractical or otherwise not fulfilling its purpose to you or us. If we do, we will give you as much notice as we reasonably can.

It's for all Virgin customers - making them even better value! Maybe they are softening us up ready for ntl takeover

They send a limited amount texts out at a time.

Anyone who didn't get a text will probably get one sometime soon.

Or you may recieve a letter or email.

This was the case when Virgin Mobile introduced 3p texts in May 2003.

hey does anyone have any more information on this because i didnt receive the text but im on virgin, does this mean i wont get them?

I emailed Virgin about a week ago to check it was not a scam and they replied:

Soon, you'll be able to text other Virgin Mobile phones for free in the UK. It all starts from the 28th of April 2006 and it lasts until the 30th of September 2006. That's all summer long!

You can send up to 1000 texts a month to other Virgin Mobile phones in the UK. And it won't cost you a single penny, you dont even need to have credit on your phone to take advantage.

What's more, it doesn't matter how you pay – all our customers can text each other for free. So if you're on a bundle, or a Pay Monthly contract, you won't pay a single penny, or lose a single text from your monthly allowance either – every text to other Virgin Mobile phones is free in the UK.

i just got the text the day my mam got it 2 weeks ago

i got the message a while back, and it applies to all customers, whats the number again in the text? I deleted it, 21.....

It doesnt cost money to ring 789 does it?

789 is free to call unless you want to speak to someone in CS then it's 10p for the call.

It is FREE but if you opt to talk to CS it
costs 10p [per call] and you get told
in advance that you will be charged
10p so you can hang up!
