Lily Allen
She's been mentioned recently on Radio 1 by Jo Wiley (of course!) but if you don't know of her yet, take a quick look at this!
![]() www.myspace.com/lilymusic I'm loving LDN and 'Nan, you're a window shopper'. LDN is such a summery tune, just the thought of lazing about on a sunny day listening to it makes me smile! ![]() So, what do you think? |

Very very superb! She'll be huge with the right promotion. LDN is being released on April 24th Let's hope she's got a good promo team behind her, to get her on the telly etc.

Thanks for replying
![]() She's got a lot of attention on the Radio 1 messageboards, mainly from people asking "Who sings that song?" I was surprised that no one on here really seemed interested though ![]() Oh well... it can just be you and me for now!

Well GroovinDJ - Don't reckon there's any doubt she has the best of promo teams behind her with Keith Allen for a Dad and Alison Owen for a mum.
To be honest this makes me sick, I'm a youth worker and so many of my kids have got tons more talent than this but they'll never get a look in on the music biz. What's a kid who went to one of the country's most expensive and exclusive public schools doing singing this pretend cockney stuff??? |

Well, each to their own, vodka!
Lily Allen rocks my socks, baby! Such a fresh vibe, and with a street kinda attitude, she totally seems herself on all her tracks there! I like them all, but Alfie is my fave, laughable listening, and I like LDN too. I heard her LDN track through Xfm as well. Went straight to MySpace to check it out. So it's out on the 24th? Today??! Whoah. Apparently the album isn't out until July though?? Can't wait, mate!

I finally went on her myspace today and it is amazing! I love the ska undertones ( I'm sorry that sounds so pretentious
) Also loving the rhyme of tesco with alfresco!

I got the link to her myspace profile through Popbitch - I like LDN and the Nan song too. She has her own style I think, which is cool. But I never knew about what vodka said...that disappoints me a little.

I'm a huge fan of Lily personally. "Smile" is a really great summery tune - and a bit different too. No doubt when it comes out it'll be slated at the Radio 1 boards then! You try taking sense into that lot, but never to any avail!!

I did post on there for a bit, but got bored of all the "Who is the fittest DJ?" and "This is my opinion, you won't ever change it." crap! Obviously not everyone on there is like that though, there are a few exceptions!! ![]() Back to Lily, I can't wait for her album to come out. I think it'll definitely be my sound of the summer

Just thought I'd spread the word, Lily's new website is now up and running.
www.lilyallenmusic.com <-- clicky ![]() If you sign up to the mailing list on there you get a sampler of the album, which I'm listening to right now and it's very cool, very Lily! ![]() (In case you're wondering... I don't work for her or anything, I just really like her music! )

Even my son likes her and that is a compliment! He sent the song Alfie to his sister as he thought she would appreciate the lyrics!!
I think she is miles better than Sandy Thom |

I really like 'Shame for you', it has what I think could be one of my favourite lines in a song:
"Oh my gosh, you must be joking me... if you think that you'll be poking me!" Haha, love it!
