Philips DVDR3305 for £99. Any good?

I notice Richer Sounds are doing the Philips DVDR3305 for £99, which seems like a bargain.

Has anyone got one? What do you think of it?
I would primarily want it to record from my freeview pvr box.
So what is the recording from external source like?
What's it like to play commercial dvds?
Can you make it multiregion?
And what's the remote like?
I do recall reading there was an issue with Fast Forward, but not sure. Is there an issue?

Thanks in advance

i was looking at this today in my local tesco's but for £129, it looks nice and the remote is silver and looks nice too. im also thinking about the panasonic with integrated freeview but thats quite deep so im not sure if it will go on my tv unit whereas the philips is not deep at all, the philips is a nice size and has no fan either whereas the panasonic does.

i was also hoping to find some user comments about it too.

I've had one of these since Christmas. I'm very pleased with it. The software is good and stable, hasn't yet missed a recording and basically does what it says on the tin. Picture quality is good on 2hr and 1hr modes. Can't really say for the 4 and 8 hour modes as I don't use them. Actually, I used the 8 hour mode once and it was a bit blotchy (on a 32" widescreen TV) but still watchable.

The editing functions are pretty good too. The only gripe I have with it is that it is a bit slow to "initialise" when you first turn the power on if there is a disc in the drive.

TBH for £99 it's good value. I just wish it had integrated Freeview, then I'd be a very happy bunny!

finaly someone who's got one sounds good, the panasonic is too big for my tv unit so i shall probably be getting the philips instead, i'll mainly be using it for copying stuff from sky+ and copying videos to dvd so should be fine.
