Hi

Looking to get one in the next couple of days but i dont know what kinda of wire i will need to connect it to my laptop and update the software on it on put new Taps on please could anyone tell me the kind i require. If you could give me a quick code from Ebuyer.com i would really apreciate it.

Thank you very much in advance.

P.s would you mind telling me what the best taps are and updates i should install on it when i get it also please.

Thank you everyone on these fourms is so helpful its great.

You want an USB A-B cable. If you've got a USB printer or scanner you might already have one. If not, ebuyer have one here

You might save yourself a few quid on eBay .

Brilliant simon thanks for the quick reply. I cant really tell from the picture but it looks like the same cable i have for my mini disc player (sony) and the digi camera cant really tell so i better order it rather than not to get it when i get the toppy save money on postage

If you buy a Toppy now, it will almost certainly have the latest release firmware, which is 5.12.25, from December, so you won't need to update that.

As for the best TAPs, play with it for a while in its vanilla state, and see what annoys you about the box, and what you'd like improved. It really is a matter of personal preference.

The TAPs that are marked as 'Tip Top' in the Toppy.org.uk downloads area are the ones we think are suitable for new users to try.

Nigel.

It's probably not the same cable as your mini disc or digital camera. They normally use a mini B plug which are only a few mm thick, whereas the standard B plug that the Toppy requires is more like 7 or 8mm thick.
