Hold out until May when the first batch of HDTV CRTs come out - about £350 apparently for the 32" versions. Samsung.

Sutchy
You can rent a 32" LCD for between £39.99 & £53.00 per month and have the option to upgrade when new models come out. Check out this TV Rental Info.

Is it not a false economy to get the cheapest HD TV? If the picture quality is poor it will look poor with HD or SD - if you are on a tight budget then a high quality SD may well give better picture quality than a basement bargin HD.
