If you read their website, line rental is £11 - you pay it to them rather than to BT.
Therefore cost is £20.99 + £11, but you are paying £11 to BT anyway... It works by using LLU - local loop unbundling - where CW will 'own' the line from the exchange to your house. About 70% of the UK is eligible (about 90% of existing customers). Not in my village though Check carefully, as TalkTalk receive loads of criticism. One thing I wonder though, is that TalkTalk use 'packet shaping' to throttle P2P etc at peak times. The new service is a 40 GB cap, so will they stop doing this????? |

No they plan to use packet shaping even more, and block ports.

Yes, it's £11 for their line rental instead of BT.
£9.99 for Talk 3 International. Broadband Free. Total £20.99 + £1.50 if you want Caller Display. Having had their broadband service, they'd have to pay me to take it. |

TalkTalk
What a load of messing. You'd end up paying CPW the same amount as you would with BT.
Furthermore, I don't like the idea of CPW taking complete control over a BT line. They block loads of access numbers and have many restrictions worse than NTL and Telewest and you just wait when you need technical support or Customer service. NTL and Telewest do not currently allow calls to access numbers like 18866 but do allow calls to all 0844 numbers. CPW has started baring them too which means you have to take out their international call package to call abroad for less. And i've also heard that their internet service is a shambols! |
