I am trying to add a Netgear WGE111 to a Wireless network to play my PS2 online. I have a Netgear D834G v2 Router and can not work out why I am struggling so much.

Basically I am plugging the WGE111 to my router via the ethernet cable (as this is the only way the installation cd picks it up), then I run through the wizard settings completing all my security settings, IP address info (do I need to change this info as it picks up the correct Default Gateway and Subnet info). When I get to the end I get a message saying "Network Error". When I click OK and Cancel / Finish, I can no longer get on the internet from any where and have to switch the router off and reset the WGE111 for the internet to work again.

Can someone please help me?

i have never used one of these routers but i have heard when people have problems setting them up they are faulty, it should be quite easy.

take it back to the store you got it from, or ask your isp
