New TV display technologies
I reckon I'm about 18mth-2 years from replacing my current 32" CRT (Toshiba, which cost me over a grand 5 years ago). I've read some of the debates on LCD v Plasma and to be honest, neither of these technologies seems that great.
However I keep reading hints of several new tehnologies coming "soon" (SED?) Can anyoneenlightbne me where they think we'll be in 2 years times. I'm sure HD will be the norm for new installs then (look how quickly sky digital repalce sky analogue) but what technology will drive the screen? |

There are a couple on the cards but the one which most people are talking about has been due to be released already but now isnt going to be until next year.
The other problem is that technologies take time to mature - the first plasma and LCD screens were terrible and it is only really now, several years on, that they have really started to come into their own. When a new technology is released it tends to be massively over priced (for those that have to have the latest thing no matter how bad it is) |
