Pop star autobiographies - who have you read?
I've read Boy George, Marc Almond, Pete Waterman and have almost finished Geri Halliwell.
Any other good pop star recommendations ?? |

Feel (the Robbie one) is a great read. Even if you don't like the guy it's really interesting and quite sad, funny, weird, illuminating.

The gorgeous pictures helped. Robbies is a very interesting read - though it didn't endear me either to him or the media. |

Robbie's feel was enlightening, also read a few on Elvis now that makes some reading and a definate money doesn't make for happy thing.
Not pop stars but also read Sharon O's - GROSS and Simon Cowell's- fascinating insight into the music industry and his big ego!! |

Shakey (Neil Young's biography) by Jimmy McDonough
Patti Smith by Victor Bockvis are both good books - I think that the subject in each case later objected to the books, despite the fact that they are not negative portayals. Diary of a Madman by Mick Wall (about Ozzy Osbourne) is also good. I've had it for years (since well before The Osbournes on MTV) so some of the content is now well known & rehashed. The Real Frank Zappa Book by Frank Zappa (oddly enough) it actually quite dry & I found it disappointing (perhaps my expectations were too high). Despite that it is useful to read some of the background to his life. I also used to have a bio of Bob marley which was excellent. Alas, I no longer have it and can't remember the name or who wrote it. (It wasn't the one by Rita Marley - which I haven't read). |

"Catch a Fire" by Timothy White. It's the only music biography I've read and it's brilliant.

not really pop, but both The Dirt (Motley Crue), and Walk This Way (Aerosmith) are great reads.

Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis is a fantastic read. I also thought Bob Geldof's Is That It? was very good, but it is of course well out of date now, I think he published it late 80's so it doesn't include any of the Paula/Michael stuff, but still a good and interesting read.

![]() I reckon 95% of posters on here could have written what he wrote. It was mainly all stats. I'm just amazed I didn't give up on it sooner, and, as Mrs Arkwright praised Scar Tissue, stuck with that instead. But at least I'm still in the early stages of reading it

Boy George's "TAKE IT LIKE A MAN" is a great read. It's very, very funny and gives a good insight into the music scene of the mid-80's.

Ronan Keating - life is a rollercoaster is a good read. its sad in places where he talks about his mum dying.
i've also read unofficial ozzy osbourne book. quite good as it tells about the early days in his carreer and the first series of The Osbournes. i want to read sharon osbournes book, but am confused on what it is, cos apparently she has a new one out? or am i mistaken... |

For any BB enthusiasts, there was 2 copies of Jades latest book, going at Ģ5.75 on greenmetropolis. That includes P+P.
It's not me selling btw, because I've bought mine and intend to keep it.

"Is This It?" by Bob Geldof is a cracking read, even if you're not a fan.
John Lydon's "No Blacks, No Irish, No Dogs" is also very good. The best one I've read recently is Nick Mason's Pink Floyd biography, "Inside Out" |
