Does anyone here like Mew?
For those who don't know, Mew are a Danish band who recently won critical acclaim with their 2005 album ...And the Glass Handed Kites. In my opinion, they are probably the best thing ever to happen to music, and '...Kites' is easily the greatest album of this millennium.
The band have been known to jokingly describe their music as "pretentious art rock", but I think I'd call them "progressive indie space pop". It's as ambitious and theatrical as it gets, but most importantly it's achingly beautiful and thoroughly enjoyable.
Anyway, I thought I'd post this now because their new single, The Zookeeper's Boy, is being released on Monday and I thought this would be a good chance for people to check them out. The single is delicious, and I'd advise anyone who likes music to go check it out. It would be really nice if this one gets in the charts.
The Zookeeper's Boy, out Monday and available from all good record stores.
And for the album:

Edit: Just realised I'm not the only one gushing over Mew. The average customer rating for the album on Amazon is a full 5 stars, and all of the reviews are glowing.
