The BBC's Fame Academy is the bbc answer to Pop idol mix with Big Brother and its bound to be one of this Autumns big hits. This is how Fame Academy will work=

12 wannabes will be locked up in a camera fill recording studio/house and they will live there for 12 weeks. They will be trianed to become better pop singers plus some of todays biggest stars will come and visited the Academy and give thier advice e.g. Darius, Gareth, Robbie etc. Every saturday the 12 wannabes will perform live then its up to us say who was the least best and that person will be voted out. The 12 wannabes will have some contact with the outside world for example every friday before the live performnce each singer will be allowed to talk to their parents or friends and we the public can e- mail our favourate wannabe and give them advice and we can even chose what song they can sing.

We will see all the arguements, tantrums, tears, laughs and we will see these people becomes pop idols before our very eyes. After a string of evictions only 2 of the 12 will battle it out to win a multi million pound recording contract with Mecury records. But who goes and who wins we decide! This will be fame for real!

Popstars:the rivals also has the big brother format in it as well this time. But Fame Academy is more like Pop idol behind and front of the sences.

I am very exicted about this programme and i cant wait until it starts which is slated to be in early Octorber, but dont worry Fame Academy will not be aired at the same time as Popstars:the rivals, it will be aired earlyer then popstars so you will have the best of both worlds.Plus there will not only be the saturday live performnce shows but we will see daily up dates on bbc1 every monday to friday just like Big Brother on ch4. I expect the up dates to be on either 10pm or 9 pm.

This show is going to be a must for reality tv fans and soap fans and you can bet its going to be adictive viewing.

I am very excited about Fame Academy. I think, what with the BBC being the BBC it will be a much more "mature" programme than Popstars:The Rivals.

One of the judges is reported to be Richard Park, former Capital Radio London bigwig. Apparently he is well known for legendary put downs.

Move over Mr Cowell. You're not on Fame Academy son

Hamish.
