Whilst in Spain, for an extended period, my parents bought a Telefonica pay as you go phone. When the phone is turned on in Britain it displays T-Mobile as the network that it will link up to. If we buy a sim card for a Uk network will the phone work whilst in the UK? I tried putting my T-Mobile contract sim card in the other day but all I got was a message saying that the wrong sim had been inserted(in English)

all mobiles are LOCKED to their own provider (this can be overridden....im sure others will tell you how :P)

the reason your SPANISH mobile displayed T-MOBILE in the UK is.........TMOBILE will be TELEFONICA's UK partner network
