iPod video help

hi there, my girlfriend got a 30gb video iPod for her birthday, she asked me to get some music videos for her so she can put them onto her iPod, so I put loads of Green Day, Alkaline Trio & Simple Plan MPEG videos onto a disc for her. Speaking to me on the phone and on Messenger she said that she can't get the videos on her iPod as everytime she tries it says "Opperation has failed" now I've looked on the net and tried to find out anything that may help for a solution to this but I can't find anything. Does anyone here know why she can't add MPEG videos to her iPod??

by the way, she is using iTunes too.

I have a 4GB Nano, so I'm not 100% sure if this is right. My friend has the 30GB Ipod Video, and I think he had the same problem as your girlfriend. If you are buying the music videos from the Itunes site, then you shouldn't have a problem as I think they just download straight to your Ipod.

However, if you have got the music videos from somewhere else, then I think you need to search for a program called 'Videora' that will convert the music videos to the correct format for the Ipod. Just type 'Videora' into Google.

Have you converted the videos to .mp4 format ? I got the same iPod as your GF and it needs all videos you want to put on the iPod in .mp4 format before putting them on the ipod.

Im using ImTOO Ipod Movie converter which does the job quite quickly and easily after their converted just drag and drop and they should work.

Also. if she has the vids on her itunes, if she right clicks on it on her itunes theres an option that says convert to ipod format(it should probs do it for her then. Unless the way the vids are are terribly bad!

Its also worth making sure the Ipod Software has been updated.

I had problems with the video freezing after about 20 secs of palying and the sound stopping.

The new Ipod Software (1.1.1) fixxes this.

I also use Xilisoft to convert to .mp4 and haven't had any problems.

Hmmm, well my Ipod Video has stopped playing all the movies iv added for no reason? Do you think this ia fault with my ipod? Although id like to add that my itunes is no longer playing them either on my laptop!? Saying the file can not be found, however they were working perfectly fine before? Should i just delete and reinstall them all again? Any advice welcome!

This sounds like the video files have moved on your hard drive.

I would try adding them to itunes again

I have ripped my DVD onto my PC using DVD shrink, how do I then get the files onto iTunes, and do I need to put all the separate files into one folder for them to work?

1st the dvd has to be ripped in the right format and size, and then you just drag the files over to the library on your ipod when its in itunes, and it should just update

Once I have ripped otit I am left with about 5 video files. Do I have to convert each of them and add all of them to iTunes? If so then is the movie broken into different titles?
