A long while ago I bought a Philips Onis 300, thinking SMS would be a good thing. After much hassle I got it to work through a service provider called Bizzyline, but it was rubbish. I see that BT now offer their own service, but only give instructions for their own phones. I have got the Onis working with some BT service numbers, but can only receive messages as voice, which is still rubbish. Does anyone out there know how to receive text via BT on an ONIS 300?

Philips Onis 300

To set the SMS mode

Philips advises you to deactivate the SMS mode if there is a second telephone device on the telephone line

To set your personal SMS box

1 -- Go to SMS, validate
2 -- Scroll to SMS Settings, validate
3 -- Select SMS Box, validate
4 -- Scroll to Add New, validate
5 -- Enter the SMS box number (between 1 & 9), validate
6 -- Enter the password twice, validate (password not compulsory)

To change the password, select and SMS box and choose Change Password.

If you forget your password delete the corresponding box. Choose Delete, confirm your choice and validate.

Warning: When an SMS box is deleted, so are the attached messages

To set the SMS Centre Numbers

1 -- Enter incoming number as 0800587529
2 -- Enter outgoing number as 147017094009
3 -- Email server number and Email separator are not required just OK through these options

Register for the service by sending a text saying register to 00000
