Arctic Monkeys at The Leadmill, Sheffield, the day When The Sun Goes Down got to number 1 and the day before the album was released. 'Secret' warm up gig for the NME Awards tour and a special night all round. Can't see them playing in an 800 capacity venue again.

There are many gigs that stand out in my memory over 30 years of gig going, but unlike many on this thread I've answered the actual question posed.

No, they haven't, and if you possessed the intelligence of a Skegness donkey you would look again and examine where your powers of observation failed miserably.

Hint: Original question asked for a single answer and many respondees (including your good self) answering in the plural...

PS It's spelt IRRITABILITY. Please don't take me on again, I prefer a real challenge.

what's wrong with answering with more than ONE gig? I know for a fact that I couldn't possibly choose ONE gig, because of the different bands I've seen... they're too different to make that kind of comparison

you really DO need to get off your high horse.

Slade....Glasgow!

Suzi Quatri and Thin Lizzie were the backers.

Thin Lizzie got booed off the stage...it was a riot!

Suzi was electric!

We were tearing up the seats and throwing everything we had........................total electric until and even more so after Slade appeared!

I will never forget that performance.

White Stripes at Reading 2002 (i think, i'm bad with dates) blew me away.

Notable mentions: The Hives, Jan 05 i think (but every time I've seen them they're amazing); Arcade Fire Leeds 05

Can't wait to see the Cardigans this week, first time seeing them after 10 years of loving them *yay*

Oh that was the same at the MK Bowl probably the same year and I thought UB40 were great

Best acts for me were Bon Jovi at Wembley, Rufus Wainwright at Brixton and surprisingly Tom Jones at a party in the park, he gave it his all.

Luther Vandross at the NEC 28/06/1987

It was the first time he'd lost the weight His voice is better live than on the record. The concert got my girlfriend and I back together.......briefly

Marcus Miller 03/07/2005

Been trying to get to see him for 20 years well worth the wait.

It was the same weekend that Luther died and as his close friend, collegue and the man who wrote the bass line for Never Too Much the tribute at the end of the concert was fitting and awesome

I have been to quite a few concerts

911 x2
James x3
Will,Gareth & Zoe
Gareth Gates
Jimmy Nail x2
Neil Diamond x2

I LOVED every one of them, Although my favourite would have to be seeing Gareth Gates in 2004 on his first ever solo tour. It was AMAZING and the BEST NIGHT EVER and THE BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE.

cant believe no one has said Coldplay at Crystal Palace last summer. totally awesome and definately worth the 4 hours of redialing i spent on my phone getting the tickets
Also one other gig sticks in my mind Jools Holland in the forest really small intimate venue but had the whole crowd in the palm of his hand
worst (and yes i know i wasnt asked) Will Young what a boring stage performer left half way through along with almost a third of the crowd

coldplay were absolutely fantastic at glastonbury last year. i know it seems to be one of those love it or hate it songs, but fix you is (IMO ) an absolutely brilliant track, and seeing somewhere like glastonbury amongst the camp fire, and with those fireworks really was something special.

Mott the Hoople with Queen supporting at the Hammersmith Odeon 14th December 1973, 2nd show.

This superb show ended in a near riot as the Odeon management, in a vain attempt to get the band to finish up and go home, lowered the safety curtain when the band was still playing, Ian Hunter hit the odeon manager, the piano was pushed under the safety curtain and Overend Watts lost his bass guitar to the audience and the hoople continued. Queen were an amazing support act.
