Can anyone let me know whether you get some form of extra memory in the box for the w810i? I'm looking to get one, but 20mb on the phone itself just isn't enough memory for me...
Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I've just found somewhere mention of a 512MB Memory Stick PRO Duo'™' included - is this correct?

The memory stick comes with the W800i so I would imagine the W810i would be the same.

It's a very nice phone. We had a Sonyericsson roadshow at work the other day. The had a dock for the phone (available seperatly) with built in speakers and a sub woofer. Really impressive.

The chap who took my order said similar things about the phone. Don't think I'll need speakers for it mind.

i have the phone on tmobile also on flext 35 with the 25% discount so its 26.25 for the duration of the contract. one thing i have noticed is the directional buttons squeak a bit so make sure you are ok with it cos mine squeaks and you should be fine. one last thing there is abit of tmobiel crap on the phone so debranding it could be useful, thats wat im thinkin of doin, in bout 6 mths ish hopefully know if there is gonna be a fault with it.

The phone has turned up but no memory stick is included. Just an adaptor.

Have you checked inside the phone? Think you'll find a 512mb card inside.

I've already checked the slot and there is definately no memory card in the phone. The phone says it has about 20 mb memory and asks me to insert a memory stick when I go into camera mode. I just want to know have others on tmobile recieved a memory stick?

512MB San Disk Card is what I received with my W810i on T-Mobile and it was in the phone.

Can anyone else on T-mobile confirm whether their W810i is T-Mobile branded below the 0 key on the phone. Mine is branded T-Mobile.

Mine is branded t-mobile, I'm going to ring them shortly to ask about the lack of a memory card. It also has the VERY annoying tzones link assigned to the right select button on the menu. I hate this! In the shortcuts menu I can re-assign some keys but not this one... Has anyone discovered a way to change the option from tzones?

We're thinking about getting the phone unlocked so my other half can use it on orange but the codes don't seem to be available. Does anyone know how long unlocking codes tend to take to be available so that we can get the phone unlocked?

Cheers

Thanks for that.

Try davinciteam.com. They have the files that you can use you flash your handset and unlock it. Apart from the T-Mobile logo below the 0 key, your phone will be like a sim free handset (generic icons etc). Costs about 10 Euros. I've flashed K750 and W800i and they have both worked fine. The only thing you'll need to get is the MMS and WAP settings which you can do via the Sony Ericsson website.

Well I rang t-mobile last night and when I eventually got through they are sending me a memory card as they agreed I should have received one.

i also have w800i from t mobile with flex tarrif, and it did indeed have a sandisk memory stick already in phone, and there is no branding below the 0 key, it has the 'w' logo , not shure why others have branding.

do you mean a w800i (the white phone) or w810i (the black one)? The black w810i phone I have from tmobile has the t mobile logo instead of the w logo on it.

my mistake, i have w800i white. why are providers so anal in doing this to handsets, it makes me mad, i can just about forgive the icon branding.

I doubt they would check. If they did you could just say that Sony Ericsson suggested you used the Sony Ericsson update service (SEUS) online which must have reconfigured the phone to the generic factory defaults. Shortly after the K750i came out, the SEUS was changing custom settings to default so it's been done before.

I noted that Tmobile have removed the menu option which gives you the ability to update the phone directly from SE on the w810i though, so best be careful about this excuse. I have to say though I did a full factory reset yesterday to see what is does - nothing much exactly except remove most of the themes and games that were installed. It didn't get rid of the tmobile branding stuff
