Well, I really wanna buy a decent acoustic guitar, and just wanted a quick run down of what a good price is for one, and also what makes I should look out for, also does anyone know, what shops on the high street may sell picks?

Your best bet is to find a good music shop and go in and have a play around, tell them what your budget is and you will usually find that the people who work there will help you to make a choice but a Guitar is a very personal thing and it's best to try a few out first.
The choice of most Musicians would probably be a Martin or a Gibson but you are talking fairly big money here but there are loads of imports now that are quite reasonable, why not check out a music store find one you like and then maybe try to find one second hand.

I have a black Acoustic Fender 
Didn't cost me that much about £150.00.
But everything Sacha said is true you need to go in and play for yourself and get a feel, I had 2 in mind before I settled on the Fender.

Fender is always an excellent choice IMO!
