Vodamoan time
Yesterday i got a picture message on my w800i
and i could not view it so i had to go to the voda website to view it  Later i try to send one i could not so i mess around as you do, goes to voda site gets settings sent to phone, tries the sony eric site and that does the same. Nothing... got a vodafone live! icon that dont do jack! I decided to phone voda CS & they told me it has to be provisioned first... WTF Why sell phones in the first place that wont send/recieve mms, wap, gprs ??? Oddly i bung a virgin sim in & it works!! I managed to get the 25p call cost refunded, wow ![]() still don't seem right we have to get it provisioned 1st. Why do they let us pull hair out when they could just leave a note in the box... stating it needs provision 1st.. Time to debrand me thinks

Vodafone are great.
The Vodafone Live! icon won't do anything until GPRS etc is enabled. |

Every was enabled, settings were ok, i checked like many times just
that it did not work as vodafone had to flick a magic switch or do a few clicks of the mouse and provision my account to use it 1st... No wonder us men go bold

Vodafone aren't the only ones that do this. I had the same problem with o2.
A call to o2 CS revealed that the service had to be provisioned first. I have to agree, it's quite annoying that they can sell you a phone with a camera on, all the settings and there branding junk on it, but can't provision the MMS service from there end automatically on registration.

Think O2 must have updated their systems, I moved my grandparents over to O2 a few weeks ago, when I put the SIM in I got a message saying they were provisioning picture messaging on the PAYG account automatically and it would be active in under 48 hours.

The gprs is added as standard on accounts and is a built in feature for most new price plans, if you have changed pp recently it may have affected your mms settings on the account and it may have needed to just be refreshed. its a standard call we get i must deal with about 30 a day on average, simple to sort out it happens.
Most new price plans/Phones come with the MMS already included but there is sometimes error when people forget to just add it, no one is perfect and this kind of thing happens. Its happened to me with an old contract on Orange and it did on tmobile when i was with them. once it has been added onto your account it can take up to 24hrs to clear on the network and work correctly. |

powered on i was able to send a MMS... ![]() The only change in pp was adding STC, does that effect it ? as out of the box before adding STC it would not send/recieve MMS! |

when we add stc to an account we in effect change the pp so yes it could affect it, when you change the pp over it moves all additional services over like mms and sometimes the network needs a refresh only 1 in a few
