Yet another homage from GG to GG.

IMHO another utter "karaoke" piece of crap from Mr. Weak Voice. Fine young cannibals did my favourite version. Incidently it was interesting to read the comments from one of the floor managers on TOTP in a article in a sunday magazine celebrating TOTP'S anniversary, rating the stars who have graced the show whilst she rated Will Young she said GG took 6 attempts 'cos he sounded so flat and Still sounded flat even at the end, there was nothing they could do unless he mimed........ looks like the extra 500,000 adult voters who chose Will to be Pop Idol were right after all!

It might be crap, but it's better than that rubbish blearing out my sister's CD player any day- Murderdolls, Korn, Slipknot etc.. you get the idea. At least Gareth's music has a tune and audiable words.

Does the 2001 apply for your age? You sound like my granny sitting in front of TOTP "songs had tunes in my day", "he needs a haircut" "that's not music, you can't hear the words". Tunes and audible words do not a great artist make, Cliff Richard, Celine Dion, Jane Macdonald all have tunes and audible words, but give me Korn anyday!

I hope so, I'm only 16. I just can't stand all this heavy metal/rock/punk music. I have my own tastes, and they are artists who play music with some sort of tuen to it, and don't sound like someone having a vasectomy without anasthetic. It might be worth respecting a band more if they write their own songs and play their own instruments, but they have to actually sound good to be worth liking. Slipknot to me, even if they do play and write their own music, are just a bunch or racket makers and those masks are ghastly.

I do say I don't like Pop Idol or Popstars bands though mainly because they are so fake. And Will & Gareth were only picked becasue thousands of Screaming teenage girlies picked upt he phone because they fancied them. I'm don't like the kind of music that appeals to teenage Girls (they only sell because the girls fancy them), but I also don't like the music that appeals to the viewers of kerrang (whoever they are) either. I prefer what lies in-between those two.

I have more respect for people who write and perform their own tunes for their own genre than pop stars who are signed for their looks and given singing lessons, then given cover songs to make a record company money..

Okay - you knock Greth but things go way to far when you start criticising Jane MacDonald - have some respect for us old folks

All 3 of Gareths tunes are cover versions. Its pathetic. Can't he or the record company think of anything original!?

(Yes, 'stupid mistake' was a cover, of an old dance tune!)

What’s with all these rappers working with pop stars. They should go and do their own material. Jennifer Lopez is the worst offender she gets the rapper to fill in time on her songs because she can't sing (In her videos she sings what is obviously the backing singers vocals). Now unfortunately everyone’s doing it. Aguilera has a rapper on her new song. Her new song does nothing for her great voice, as she blurts out at high notes one word. Britney "boys” was ruined by pharrel (I take the fact that he's not a rapper but he still managed to ruin it). N sync did it. The Re-mix is better than the original but that’s more to do with what the Neptune’s did with the track rather than Nelly’s part.

1) She's not an r'n'b group, she's in an r'n'b group
2) She is a popstar, in the generic sense of the word.

R'n'B doesn't bear that much resemblence to 'older' stuff of the same genre. Also, popstar, in the generic sense, can be used to describe someone who is popular. It can be used to describe a popular musician. That is where this definition of pop comes from, popular. Nothing to do with the particular style of the music really.

Anyway, on topic, I don't find any Gareth Gates track particularly exciting. The videos even less so, the two (or three, I forget) that I've seen all look the same. Boring.

I have an eclectic music taste, and I'm with DanVitale - I have more respect for people who don't stick to identical styles of music all the time, or who write their own music. Having said that, cheesy pop is good *in moderation*

It wasn't really a rant aimed at kelly.
Destinys Child have gone less and less R n B as they've produced albums. They still have the R n B edge but thats just to keep them popular as thats what the people want.

Gareth Gates - Suspicious minds - pile of shite.

The Original by Elvis is an absolute classic. The Fine Young cannibals version is superb, too.

Chris - do you know which tune and artist? - if you do i'll be able to shut my sis up bleating on how he writes (ha ha ha - the record lable do that!) his own stuff...

GG-SMinds is one of the worse tracks of the year (behind kerrang and 1xtra type carp)...

BTW i love the FYC's version - and Elvis' is okay, but havn't heard that much....
