International Callers

Hi Once again for the last few weeks i have been plaqued by calls that only show "Internat"(ional) on my phone, I dont bother answering them and they always hangup before the answer machine comes in.

Anyhow last night I thought I would pick the phone up to see what/who was there.
On doing so I was greeted by an outgoing ring tone, to be said hello to by a nice english sounding lady, although from the tone of her voice sounded like she was expecting me to have called her and was waiting for me to say something, I didn't and hung up.

Who could this be? and would it have cost me money to hear the outgoing ringtone?

Cheers

Not sure what this would be.

Though ignoring calls displayed as international, could mean you are missing calls from friends and family in the UK. They may be using low-cost call providers such as Call 1899 who sometimes route the call outside the UK and back in again as it is cheaper, the downside is if you have a BT line with caller display, it shows up as International.

As you have answered an incoming call then you should not have incurred any call charges.

I've had this before. Answer and left listening to ringtone. Not disimilar to receiving a free notification to a ring back when free request, set earlier.

In my case I held on the line, listening to ringtone, and was finally answered by some Yank who was trying to sell me some rubbish or other.

Ok Cheers people, we usually know when friends and family are off on their jollys, mostly they ring from mobiles, so if you do a 1471 jobbie it will tell you the number.

So maybe if I just ignore them they will go away

Thanks

But as I said above, even if it displays international it could still be a UK call.
