But that's why it always causes such contension because what is sexy to some is bloody annoying to others. While whats sexy to those people is boring to the other set. So basically I don't think there's anything wrong with sexy it's just that BB tends to encourage a very specific kind of 'sexy' that doesn't appeal to all sorts. And as for the men, well we don't really need to discuss that ”

Fair enough - as you may have guessed personally I think the sexiest woman on BB was and still is Sam - for me it's not ( just ) about the physical though in her case there's very little that can be faulted .
For me , it's more about looking great , no matter what the time or place - for instance , climbing out of bed upon hearing music for what must have seemed like the first time in ages and dancing , laughing and generally having fun. It's also , more than anything , in the eyes , seeing into someone's psyche whether that may be sadness , happiness ,anger etc. - there's nothing less sexy than a blank expression no matter how gorgeous the person , which is why so many 'glamour' photos don't do the models justice , but conversely there's nothing more sexy than seeing a twinkle in someone's eye and just knowing what's going on in their mind.

P.S. Elderflower , great response How did it take 6 pages to get to that though ?

All I could ever hope is for BB7 to have a housemate that I feel that way about (swoon-swoon)

OK , let's turn this round a little - you've said at times you liked Roberto and may have suggested he was 'sexy' , can you give any more details on what it was that made you feel that way ?

P.S. Elderflower , you can PM me pics of that 'twinkle' if you want

I've noticed that there is a certain kind of man that only straight women fancy and likewise gay men. Roberto never peeled MY banana, but loads of the straight women I know adored him.

I would say Sam was the best-looking, not by a great margin.

And I'd agree with Jenni about Anoushka being the sexiest, even when she was alone in the house before Cameron entered.

I think the thing with Roberto (for me) was that he was tall, had lovely hair, and looked like someone who was not a stranger to soap. I'm also a sucker for an Italian accent as no matter what they're saying it always sounds to me like they're talking about sexy. But outside of the BB environment would I ever be attracted to someone like that - no not at all. Yes I did think he was cute when I met him but in a BB sort of way. I tend to be attracted to intelligence and a specific sense of humour. Am also a sucker for the old twinkle in the eye. In terms of telly figures I'd probably say Jonathan Ross would be the closest. As far as actors Damien Lewis. As far as 'pretty boys' Lehmann the Arsenal goalie. As far as 'pure sex' Thierry Henry. Yes I know some of those don't come under 'intelligence and sense of humour' but that's real life not the movies

Sexiest woman would have to be Mel BB1 - hell, even I fancied her

Sexiest man is definitely Alex (though the field is very narrow)

Unsexiest woman? I don't think I'm qualified to judge

Unsexiest man? Without a doubt, Jonny Regan

That's an interesting point actually. Does the person radiate sex appeal when they're alone..............

Given that sex appeal is something that involves more than just looks, yes I believe they can.

Some good examples - certainly JR has the 'twinkle' , also has a certain 'boyish' nature which I believe some women like ( as long as it doesn't get childish ) - accents also seem to be very popular especially Italian or French ( hence Roberto and TH ? ) , don't know much about Damien Lewis ( just checked google ) , must admit I don't really understand Lehman but each to his/her own

One example of a ( still ) sexy woman which occurred to me is Honor Blackman - she may be well into her 70s but still has it while , for me , the likes of Angelina Jolie just don't do it at all , also Kiera Knightley is undoubtedly beautiful but imo isn't in the least sexy

I'm with you there. Another 'older but goodie' is that Jane Birkin, phwoarr. Yes, do not get that Keira Knightley business at all. You would know Damien Lewis if you saw him on a chatshow or something. I have a weakness for redheads.

For me it's not only a case of they can but that they should/must. That's part of what I find annoying about some of the BB lot who seem to believe that behaving like a cat in heat is a surefire way to be sexy.

Which also goes back to the earlier point about 'trying to be sexy' is not 'actually being sexy' - it is something which has to come naturally but can be diminished by trying too hard which is a common failing on BB

It's all about having that 'thing' that's unconnected to looks isn't it? Some people who aren't brilliant looking have it. Other people who are beautiful just don't.

Exactly - it used to be called 'X Factor' or sometimes 'seX Factor' until a certain TV show , it's often said to be 'undefinable' but really I think it's just an amalgamation of many different factors most of which are difficult to quantify and are often subjective

You shouldn't like Jane Birkin, because I like Jane Birkin.

I agree with you and Dangerman about Keira, though. Why the heck is she the world's sexiest? (According to the FHM poll.)

At least the No. 2 (Keeley) makes sense in FHM terms.

Interestingly, a Guardian columnist made a big deal about how boyish Kiera's shape was, not bothering to notice who was No. 2, 3, 4, etc. Opportunism strikes again, I suppose.

Then why is so much of it devoted to slagging off housemates, often in quite nasty ways?

And to sly attacks on other forum members, carefully avoiding any names so as to avoid too obviously violating the forum's rules?

Quote:
“Everyone has a right to an opinion.”

And everyone has a right to commment on those opinions.

What often happens - it's almost typical - is that postings that make a big deal about how something is "opinion", and about the right to an opinion, are from people who slag off housemates and don't like it when people disagree with them.

(I am not including you in that, btw. I don't know why you think it's all opinion here and no one is ever right or wrong.)

All the while, in most of the forum, people treat truth as the standard to aim for.

Also, some FMs who seem nice, friendly party people in some threads are quite nasty in others and try to provoke and attack other FMs in sly ways, using tactics that include accusing others of the same tactics. (That started being especially noticeable during BB6 when there was an influx of anti-Science posters, claiming that Science fans were making the forum unpleasant for them, when it was far more the other way around.)

I had the fortune to have the time to read a lot of old threads. There is a lot of needless antagonism on these very often directed at HM's and FM's supporting HM's.So it was ever thus.
