How old are they? The lead singer looks 15!

Also, I was having a look at the lyrics to "Naive" and, correct me if I am wrong but, they seem to be saying the same thing over and over again?!

Ha the kooks are one of the worst British bands to emerge of recent times. I should imagine their gigs are swarmed with 15-19 year olds in heavy kohl and stripes. appalling.

How young? I think we are talking Arctic Monkeys-type young. About 20-ish. I believe the lead singer was at one time on very friendly terms with Katie Melua, the lucky so and so. No wonder he sings in that 'I've just had a bit of an accident in me keks' voice.

Well personally I love the Kooks but then I fit into the 15-19 category although without stripes and only lightish kohl
However his accent does puzzle me because he is from Croydon originally and then studied in Brighton (I read too much music press, I know)so where the northern twinge has come from I dont know . and Naïve isn't much of a lyrical masterpiece I agree.

I think you'll find that is now known as Nigel Kennedy/Mike Skinner Syndrome and can be treated successfully if caught early enough...

You can't take them seriously because their singer looks young? Now that is Naive................

Repetition of lyrics isn't a bad thing in my eyes, especially when they are good lyrics.

I think the Kooks are absolutely brilliant, theyre album is great. They are really uplifting and are great for the summer. I went to school with the drummer from the band and they are all in their early twenties

Luke (singer) is 22 I think. Hugh (the guitarist) is 18. Paul (drummer) is 21 I think. God knows about Max (apart from where he is at the moment, but the less said about that the better I think).

I've seen them about 10 times now. Mostly supporting The Subways on their previous two big tours. I really like them, but I can't help but think they may end up being too big too soon. Lovely people though. Even Luke, who can seem like an arrogant tosser in interviews and on stage sometimes.

I have to say i thought they were probably a bit of a one hit wonder with Naive. But i absoloutly LOVE their new single She Moves in Her Own Way! Its toe-tappingly brrrilliant!

I'm 33 and I dig them. I've got used to this "really young but bags of talent" syndrome. I remember hearing Tijuanna Woman on the 1st Gomez album years ago. The guy who sings it sounds like he's been smoking 60 Bensons a day for 50 years, but he's actually that young he's probably still got a paper round!
I picked up the album by mistake but I'm glad I got it. There's plenty of cool influences for a guy like me..there's Bowie and Souxie and the Banshees (can't think of anymore off hand..not played it in a few weeks, but there is more! ). As for his accent..sounds a bit scouse to me!

Naive was their fourth single. You Don't Love Me got to number 12, so they weren't ever going to be a one hit wonder with Naive!

And, as far as I'm aware, Luke is 22.

Really into their album at the moment.. It's not flawless, but it's pretty solid all the same. Current faves are "Sofa Song" and "Ooh La", though different songs creep up on me all the time..

They are good. If you buy the 12" of the album you get another 12" of most of the album performed acoustically.

Paul (drummer) is about 19-20 I think. I used to be his tennis coach when he was only 8 years old down in East Sussex. Couldn't believe it the other day when I watched the Isle of Wight festival on TV and he was there on the screen...

He was rubbish at tennis and used to have a high pitched whiney voice!!!

Paul is from Seaford (nr Eastbourne). His sister is in my year at school and I know her quite well. The twins from Hollyoaks were also in my year!!

I think the other guys are from Brighton which is just down the road!

Cool I'm about 20 mins away from Eastbourne.

Did you know the twins?

I need a claim to fame!
