Has anyone who is with onetel and got line rental with them, noticed that the fee has gone up since talk-talk took over

I signed up in january for onetel line rental at £9.75 as took online billing, noticed today that it has increased to £9.99 without any notification to me that this was increasing.

can they actually just increase the rental charges without notifying you or not, as i thought they had to give you plenty of notice regarding increases.

regards
walkerx

having checked this further it looks like they only honoured the £9.75 line rental for the 1st month only, yet i signed up for a 12 month contract

And how much do they charge for not paying by direct debit?

You see that NTL has risen the non-direct debit admin fee to £4 and Telewest will follow this in June. This has been risen due to the increased charges set by payment agencies like Paypoint, payzone,Post office and bank transfers.

Therefore, it will mean that other companies will also follow this too.

Your line rental from TalkTalk is likely to rise by £2 by the end of 2007 and you will be paying similar rates as Telewest customers will. How else is Carphone going to keep up with providing free broadband????

I would consider canceling your option once the contract has ended and then choosing a CPS provider and be billed by BT for line rental. Then you could use access numbers such as 18866 for certain calls just like Bextech usually advises.

They will have some small print that with say they will publish the fact prices have increaed 28 days before they happen. This will be hidden somewhere on their website, and not something they will email to you, they believe it is up to you to check.

As the wise know, never have anyone else for line rental other than BT.

All that glisters is not gold. Most CPS carrier companies I've tried have had terrible CS and billing (based in India) and have been a nightmare.

I'd rather pay top whack and have a proper phone service and no customer issues.

BT Option 1 internet and BT Together Option 3 and proud of it!!!

I've never had any problems with CPS or indirect access, neither have friends and relatives other than one with OneTel.

Just seems stupid to throw money away, when there are better call providers out there than BT.

I've dealt with One.Tel, Just Dial and Tele2... now they've seem to be swallowed up by Talk Talk... 3 bad companies now taken over by an even worse one!!!!!!!

People seem to be happy to pay £3 a pint in a pub for a pint of premium lager, when the wetherspoon down the road serves the same beer for £2. Yet people seem to stay in the more expensive place.... I wonder why?

Cheaper is not always better.

I've been bitten by the bug, now I'm getting the innoculations Never again!

No cheaper isn't always better, TalkTalk broadband is dire, I was with them for broadband for 2.5 months, their phone package was faultless.

Primus 2 is fine too, free evening and weekend calls for no fee, friends and family have had no problems, they are also happy with 1899 and 18185.

In my experience (managing telecoms for a multinational for 8 years, and personally at home) you've either got fantastically low expectations or have been incredibly lucky - because the only part that's true about BT in that is you'll certainly "pay top whack".
