My phone just rang, so I answered and it started to ring like I had dialed out. I hung up immediately. The number was 08444823210. Any one know of this? Is it a scam of some sort?

no it isn't, Portsmouth numbers start 023 92.

0844 numbers are allocated as "Special Services basic rate: up to and including 5p for BT customers (non-internet)". 0844482 seems to be allocated to a company called Syntec UK Ltd
