I think discussing nominations is actually a good idea. It will certainly cause more trouble as housemates can actually plot to get others evicted, ensuring that their enemy is nominated for eviction. Then twists could be used to make the plots backfire on the housemates who are plotting.

Maybe the discussing nominations idea should not be used throughout this year's Big Brother. I think it would be a good idea to do it for one week only, but not actually TELL the houseamtes. For example, the winner of a task could be called to the diary room and is told that nominations are allowed to be discussed this week, and they can tell whoever they wish of this news.

I'm pretty sure that Big Brother was confirmed until Series 9 at least?

Not really. I enjoy watching the show. I just think it would benefit from a bit of a shake-up!

Why would C4 axe one of their best performing shows?

A few years ago this would have been disasterous for the format. But now, I think any format change that makes the housemates act with a higher sense of value would be refreshing. It used to be deplorable when a housemate fought to win the money, but by now I'd like to see them do anything that breaks their pattern of vain, self-serving childishness.

We are now used to BB housemates being nothing more than fame-seeking, emotionally-deficient, psychologically-disturbed grotesques. So the way I see it, even if they are backstabbing and manipulating each other, they'll be displaying a lot more brians and maturity.

A lot more Brians, there can only be one Brian, and that was Mr.Dowling!

I hope they're NOT allowed to discuss nominations.. It was always one of the fundamental rules of BB .. BBUSA have their show.. Leave the UK version alone

I think if this is another 'pile in' show again this year, people are going to start switching off .. Sort it out Endemol.

I agree totally.
Although i am a BB addict, do we really want another year of seeing people sunbathing, cooking, lying in bed or like last years most deserving (  ) winner who sat on a sofa for ten weeks and walked away with the prize!!!!!
Put some real competition into the show and make them work for the money.

I have said the last 2 or 3 years they should discuss nominations, it would refresh the show and I hope it is true. It is a silly rule not to be able to.

Discussing noms would be ripped off from BB USA - er, no, actually it would be returning to the rules in BB1...

In BB1 they weren't allowed to discuss nominations either.

The problem with the whol discussing nominations is that they never actually police it until they want to have a go at someone.

For every time you saw someone being pubished for influencing or talking about nominations there had been at least 3 others doing exactly the same atround the same time. Some of it you even saw on the highlights programmes let alone the even more obvious bits live on E4.

Either clamp down on it or have some other penalty scheme in place.

Im so hoping this is true,, its gonna be hectic much better then them discussing stuff which no body cares about, play the game like it suppose to be played.. this is better idea then bbusa because the viewers decided who should stay,, in usa they always kill the popular chracters first because their "threatening", that wont be happening here

Oh yes they were - and did so. It was specifically banned before BB2 because it had tended to make nominations night a bit predictable. You may be being confused by the Nasty Nick thing - but he wasn't thrown out for discussing nominations.

Nick was basically kicked out for trying to influence peoples nominations.

Victor's game was heavily influenced from the E4 coverage of BB USA that he viewed the previous year before entering the bbuk house.
