Why do you like/ dislike this year's BB eye?

Hello all, I've been a big brother fan for the last 4 years and love every logo to date. I wanted to know what is it about this years logo that you like or dislike. Personally I love for the following reasons:

(1) It just feels summery, the whole yellow colour has connotations of summer unlike last year's which just seemed odd
(2) Yellow can be referred to as a sickly colour and it makes me wonder if Big Brother is going to have grusome tasks again e.g. the roundabout in BB5
(3) The pattern reminds me of the earlier BB logos; Big Brother 2, 3 and 4 as they focused on unique repeating patterns
(4) It also reminds me of Big Brother 5's evil theme as this yellow eye twists and spirals into darkness
and (5) It's about time Big Brother used an eye with yellow as a main colour. Based on the original first few series I just presumed each year only 2 colours and a new pattern would be used. I had my hopes up for a yellow and purple one.

The only reason I can think of why i do not like it is because it reminds me of a wasp. I accidentally swallowed a wasp at the age of 6 and so I cant say I'm fond of wasps lol.

I love it. Definately the best eye ever. So simple but yet so effective. It's not tacky like the BB3 & 4 eyes. The BB5 eye comes a close second.

I'll have to see it animated before I pass judgement.

I'm not keen on the flat version. ....Looks like a bit of a 'ten minutes before the deadline decision' to me.

I'm not having a pop at anyone, it's just people keep on about the logo as if it's going to make the programme better.....

I do media studies and so I was taught to look deeply into logos and advertising and what they could represent or mean. Last year's wasa tricky one as all i could think of was the unlucky shattered mirror theme. BB5 was evidently evil due to the harsh red spikes and BB4 was harmonious and joyous (rainbow effect).

I like it because its summery, its different and its BIG BROTHER lol

... So in their own right, the BB eye logos briefly reveal possible events andthemes for each series. I had a firend that I used to talk to about this too and she hadn't a cluehow I could make any of this stuff out.

that's more like it, you've provided a reason for your interest, I can respect that.....

Thankyou very much, you all seem really nice on this forum. Another point I thought of but cannot justify though is that it reminds me of the rumours we heard last year about a sun house/ owl house.

I love the eye. I have synaesthesia, and when I see the colour yellow, I can taste Swiss Roll. It's a brain thing.

I love the new eye. Up until now my favourite had been the colourful BB4 eye, but this yellow spiral eye is really different to previous eyes. Im intrigued as to what the interior of the house will be like now as well. Wonder if they will incorprate yellow into the designs for that?? Last year there was alot of blue and white and BB5 had alot of greens.

I hope we get the first yellow diary room! The diary room is usually based on the logo too e.g. BB3's orangey red chair goes with the orange in the logo, bb6's blue chair definately relates to the blue, black and white logo. So maybe this year will see a yellow chair.

Oooh yes a yellow diary room would be cool. We couldn't really see the interior last yeat because the chair was so big.

Definately my favourite eye yet - yellow is my favourite colour & I've been waiting for a yellow eye for years!
It also works very well with the black and it doesn't remind me of a wasp/bee at all.
It's the colour of Marmite and I absolutely love Marmtie so that's even better!

I personally wouldn't mind the yellow in the diary room. I think I have now decided that this is my favourite eye closely followed by BB5

I'm not sure how i feel about it, it seems a bit plain and boring. Normally they are edgy and different, i'll wait till i see it animated, but at the moment, i'm not overly impressed.

I'm not sure about it. In nature black & yellow together is a danger signal (think wasps)

LMAO! I know but maybe this is another connotation about the theme this year. OOOH! Wasn't there rumour that Big Brother gets scary this year, the rumour was to turn off the lights (maybe fake a power cut and make the housemates feel big brother is not in control) and it was to copy Belgium by unleashing tarantulas into the house (arachnaphobia). Maybe BB will have a task about those winged b****ds! eek

Not keen on it but if its representive of the theme then id say dangerous, out of control ( spiralling ) and proberbly twisted evil bb5 style rather than bb6 style.

I know. There should've been a kind of half winky, half groany 'my job sucks' kind of a smiley there but I couldn't find an appropriate one.

I'll look out for the animated ident tonight. I'm sure it'll be good, the last one was.

I don't like yellow - being blond (collar and cuffs ) it does nothing for my skin.
