20hrs Max per month

VoIPBuster, SIP Discount, VoIP Cheap, VoIPStunt and their sister services are now putting a limit on the amount of free calls they offer.

You now get a maximum for 20 hours per month.

40 minutes a day average is enough for most people though eh ?

Not really, I easily use at least a couple of hours a day on average.

You'll have to talk faster then

I'm on the phone a lot - but even I struggle to sustain a 40m/d average over a month.

Surely this it the beginning of the end though. If it's too good to be true it is not the bargain it seems.

Rather than making it more attractive, there seems to be a move towards making it cost more.

I was wondering why many of the VOIP boxes were becoming discontinued. Now I can see why. Many of the providers lure you in and then tie you to a contract and then reduce the service or increase the cost.

It's getting to the stage where the existing suppliers are nearly competing with a technology that promised free calls.

Basically, anyone getting in now (myself included) have missed the boat. We can probably get a slightly more competitive service, but it's clear that it will get more expensive rather quickly.

So far with this group of companies I've had 12 months of free calls, and all it has cost me in total is €6, so I can't complain there.

Just a shame they have set it to 20 hours a month, I can easily spend up to 3 hours on one call.
