o2 upgrade-what a load of rubbish!
I have just had an email from o2 telling me what phones a can upgrade to from my Sony Ericsson K750i!
the options were- Nokia 6230i, Samsung S400i, O2 X1b and the Sony Ericsson Z520. i consider all of them to be a downgrade from my K750i. i am on an online tarriff which is £20 a month. Any Suggestions? cheers |

Hi.
I had the same problem in january. They offered me the same rubbish.I cancelled after two years with them. I called them back and kept complaining.Got a nice lady the other end, they then offered me a nokia 3230.I accepted. They wouldnt give me the route 66 sat nav software which was a free gift to new customers. But i got a fiver a month knocked off of my line rental. It was £19,knocked down to £14.You just have to pester them and hope you get a nice person the other end, eventually. Good luck. Steve.

If they have emailed you then they are trying to sell you a low cost phoe. Businesses are never going to advertise their best deals on promo emails. Phone up o2 and see what phones they have to offer. The email you have got will just be a generic one.

Oh yes and the title is hardly apt, very misleading for people who just flick through posts.
Its just a mailer you have got, not a final offer. O2 are on the of the best companies to be with, with regards to upgrading as you will be allowed the same deals as new customers get in the o2 shop. |

I had an old Online Genie tariff with O2. I called last week to cancel, they offered me a £20 a month tariff which includes 300 minutes cross network off peak and 500 text messages, a month, for basically £10 for the entire year... cool
![]() I didnt want a new handset so retentions offered me this great deal Try cancelling maybe retentions will offer you the same sim only deal

O2 offer 6 months double bundle on all tariffs for the first 6 months or 50% extra for life on 18 month tariffs. Most handsets are free. You carn't get cheaper than free, and only o2 will offer 6 month double bundle on their plans, other places are unable to. Some online only retailers may offer slightly better deals for new customers. Though, this would mean disconnecting and reconx. Many people have commented on here o2 have an excellent retention service. O2 are a business at the end of the day, though they still offer some of the best retentions deals around. |

Each June, I ring up 02 and tell them what I want to upgrade to! There is no way they should be telling you what to have - you pay them each month, so they should at least let you pick a decent phone!

They are proactively offering phones which they have on promotion. It is called a mailer. Its simply a promotional based information only. Most companies don't even bother letting customers know they can upgrade. |

My nokia 3230 o2 50 contract became 12 months old today so i rang up o2 up to upgrade. all the would offer me was a z520i, 5140i and some cheapo nec phone for free. These are all downgrades and when i told them i wanted either a n80 or 3250 they said it would cost me £150 for 3250 or £180 for n80. I spent ages on the phone trying to make them budge and i threatended to cancel several times but they wouldnt lower these prices. I consider this a disgrace as they offer new customers the 3250 for free on the £19 a month o2 50 what i am on. I am seriousley thinking about telling my bank to cancel the direct debit and writing to the o2 head office. Do they not want to keep the customers or something??

cancelling your DD and writing to Head Office wont achieve anything, apart from having you incur the wrath of a debt recovery agency if u let it go on too long without paying. Take my advice from someone who works there, ring up, say you want to upgrade, they will tell you phone and price, they cannot budge from that price in the upgrades department, if u're not happy with the price then ask to speak to disconnections, they're the ones who can do things for you.

I rang to cancel my old Genie contract last November and was offered a tariff worth £20 a month for £10 a month plus a credit on my bill of £117.50.
Will cost me £2.50 for the year. |

I'm cancelling my o2 contract and moving to Orange simply because o2 can't offer me a phone I want. I'm not overly happy about it as I've been with o2 for years but that's the way it goes I guess *shrugs*
And o2, offering me 100 extra minutes a month to stay isn't an incentive

I find it incredible that everyone thinks they must be given everything free and handed to them on a plate. Yes you are giving them your custom but I can;t see why o2 should provide you always with the very latest £400 phone for £15 a month.

It's no different to the Nokia Online Store only selling those phones that do poorly in most of the reviews.
The prices are quite good though as you get a sim free phone brand new from the maker. |

just got a good deal from o2 upgrading my phone. i phoned them asking if i could upgrade to se w810i. i was told the phone would cost me £89. I told them that i wasn't happy with the price and i was going to look elsewhere for a better deal. They then offered me the phone for £39.99 and cut my line rental by a fiver a month from £19 to £14. Im very happy with that

I did a bit better than that. Got my upgrade for free (N91), and got 400 minutes for £15 a month. Several times I've asked for my PAC, this time I asked for it and told her I would be moving to T-Mobile's Flext tariff. I told them it was unfair that they weren't offering me anything decent even though I had been with o2 Online for around 5 years. She then spoke to someone and relented.
Very pleased with that. |
