Panasonic 24" Widescreen

Hi

Has anyone got one of those lurvly Panasonic 24" widescreen Quintrix tellies? - Sorry I can't recall the model No.

If yes, what do you think of it? As I'm thinking of getting one. My father has the 28" version & is well pleased with it but due to a titchy front room I must go for the smaller set & wondered what it was like.

Cheers in advance for your comments.

My company sells these ncie little TV's. I can recommend them. Its a fair price compared to the Sony 24inch which is about £80 more for no more features.
The Panasonic has a good picture and fair sound. It has 2 scarts, one does RGB and the other does SVideo, (both do composite video of course) Theres an audio output socket too and front AV inputs. You get several aspect viewing modes: 4/3, 14/9, 16/9, 4/3 letterbox zoom, 'Just' strech mode. If using RGB you cannot use the 'Just' stretch mode though.( this mode streches a 4/3 image to give a widescreen effect but distorts the edges) For cheaper price but similar pictures, go for a Thomson 24VK25US which are about £360-£390 ish. These are more cheaper cabinets and slightly more basic sound, and no audio output sockets on the rear. These TV's are made in Panasonics Czech republic factory, but seem well made (so far so good)
Hope that helps.

I didn't mean it to sound that the Thomson TVs were made in the Panasonic factory. they're not... they're made somewhere else... sorry for confusion...

Cheers for your advice.

I got a Panny 24" delivered at the week end & first impressions are I've made a good choice, fingers crossed - as this set is replacing a 'super reliable' (not!) Sony that went belly up after just a few months!.

The auto-switching takes abit of getting your head around but hey, thats all part of the fun.

Cheers again.

Oh the only other point about these Panasonics, when using RGB signals, you get less viewing aspect modes. you lose the 'Just' trick 4:3 stretch mode. Hardly a big deal, but if using a Digibox or DVD you might wonder where the option went. It's available in composite PAL video signals though.
