The character is going to be involved in a great storyline in the future.

The character is pointless and dull. Phew she's leaving anyway. Corrie ruined her her with the crap gansta storyline.

She irritates me now, but the gangsta story ruined her she did have potential to be a good character, hopefully Ronneh runs over Kieth.

What does everyone think about why Ronnie is a bad character? Does anyone think a different actress in the role would have made her a better character? Or is she just a bad character full stop?

Bad character full stop! I don't find her remotely interesting she's just one of those characters you wouldn't notice or care if they left.

It's a shame Ronnie turned out to be so bad. When she was announced as an upcoming character, I had high hopes that we would soon be getting a new leading lady for Corrie.

Personally I think it was down to planning same with Molly and Diggory

Ronnie was only planned as a short term character like Louise but someone told the producers we liked Ronnie (Do you think the got confused with Lousie?) so they signed her up so when the Gangster stuff had finished they were like what the hell do we do with her. So it was down to planning look at Molly she was only plannned to do the kirk and Fiz story so she failed at first but they saved her, same with Diggory was brought in as a comedy character and they never has ay idea about his history, his likes and dislikes, his feelings etc

I think you might be right. I'd forgotten that she was only intended to be a temporary character.

Some characters they bring in without any planning whatsoever I find! They introduce them, then think, "ooh what shall we do with them?". Of course then we see them get rid because they don't know what to do with them! Diggory would have worked with a bit of thought. As would Ronnie. And yet they get rid of good characters like Harry Flagg who would have worked permanently had he been given the chance.
Loose ends are another problem at the moment-what happened about the woman with the flat growing cannabis? Why did bookie Eric only appear vaguely? What happened to Maya in the end?

But I do agree about the planning to tell the truth Diggory could still work giving the chance. Nathan, Jessie, Joanne, Keith, Kelly (At first), Penny, Adam and Yana are other one's

I know, but it seemed a bit of a quiet ending to the story. They should maybe have shown us more. Mind you, having said that, what has happened to Dev and Amber lately?!

Diggory Compton, you mean.
And he's not a pensioner, he's only in his late forties or early fifties!

I find most characters work if you give them the chance. They seem to give up on certain characters too easily lately.

They originally were planning a trial but Jimmi Harkinson was caught tken drugs and was given time off so by the time he had returned Shasha's contract had ran out so they dropped it like a dead fly.

Who cares were Dev is the last few weeks it's be great, but I did see Amber in Waterloo road the other week maybe she's off filming that at the moment on screen?
