some people might have argued that the channel 4 show last night features many one hit wonders who have had a lot of top 75 hits.

so which 'one hit wonders' have actually had a massive top ten hit, and lots of smaller hits no body remembers outside the top 30?

I couldnt believe they said Arthur Brown became a painter and decorator after his 'fire' hit. This was untrue. He formed a band called 'Kingdom Come' who made some very innovative and ahead of their time albums in the seventies .

well lot of the time it didnt show what happened to people or other hits like those shows normally do.

as for arthur brown, dont really know him apart from the fact that he sets his head on fire. on of those things like pj proby's pant splitting that your folks tell you about.

actually i was trying to think of the baha men other 2 top 20 hits at the time that led me to this idea

Since watching the show I have downloaded about 20 songs which appeared on the show.

Could not get the timelords though, the ruskies must not have heard of them.

There ought to have been an accompanying CD to the show. Don't think I've got that Timelords track either.

Falco's follow up to 'Rock me Amadeus' went top 10. Who could forget 'Vienna calling'?

Well, obviously all the people who voted in the Channel 4 programme

Harold Faltermeyer also released the theme to Fletch (the Chevy Chase film) after Axel F which I rather liked. Can't remember if it made the Top 40.

The Timelords were the KLF under a different name so do they really count?

This list was just for the casual observer of music, not the die-hard fans like us lot. They always annoy me when they incorectly name one hit wonders.

Dr and The Medics had a no.29 hit after Spirit In The Sky and the inclusion of Falco is stupid, as mentioned above.

Don't remember it though!

Believe it or not, I once read Simple Minds described as a "one hit wonder".

I think it was a pretty crappy little article though.

a simple minds fan then?

i suppose the article was said with a lot of sarcasm as simple minds are one of those 80s bands who are not U2 that are were looked on as being very dodgy a few years ago (dont know what the current opinion is with all this 80s stuff around at the moment )

was the one wonderful hit that dont forget about me song?

Not really a big fan but I do have the Cd and I like Waterfront and Belfast Child.
Being Scottish, maybe I have to support them though.

Cant remember much else about the article, just that that comment surprised me a lot at the time. What about the two tracks I mentioned above, and Alive and Kicking.etc?

Afroman had another top 10 hit with Crazy Rap so although its probably not that well remembered he's not my idea of a one hit wonder

THe Pussycat Dolls were supposed to be one hit wonders, but infact they've had songs reach either numbers 1 or 2, and judging by their next release, it seems they'll add to their success.

Coldplay are technically one hit wonders. How many times have they released the same tune under a different name now? 7? 8?

Not in this country they didn't.
'All Out Of Love' was their only Top 40 hit.
