Foo Fighters Tour

So who's going? Anyone as excited as me?!

I saw them in 2000 at birmingham academy and it rocked! Hopefully it'll be cool this year, but the venue is about a million times bigger this year

At the academy, i was standing real close to the band, and Dave even went thru the crowd and did a bit of crowd surfing!

To Craig E. - Foo Fighters on Channel 4 tonight from 12.10 to 12.45a.m. I quote Radio Times: "A live concert and interview with the American rockers." Too many late nights recently so I'll be setting the video! Being a FF fran you might know this already but I've only just heard that the devil in Tenacious D's 'Tribute' video was played by Dave Grohl. He must be mates with Jack Black or something because they seem to collaborate quite a bit. Also, someone I know is as excited as you about their tour because he's seeing them too (in London I think). Poor bloke missed the Reading Rock Festival, having shelled out loads on a new tent, because he broke his hip playing football -OUCH - so his parents got him tickets for the tour as a compensation. So, sad story but with a happy ending - and his hip is well on the mend, so smilies all round!

I read the devil was dave grohl, but i dunno, it doesnt look like him that much to me!

yep, gonna tape that thing tonight on mtv2 as well, cheers for letting me know.

The lack of responses on this thread have confirmed my suspicions... most DS posters have terrible music tastes!

Look at it when he licks the guitar. It is him. Tenacious D were in the "Learn To Fly" Video.

I think FF are a good record band but I thought they were boring live

I love Everlong, but most FF stuff isn't really to my taste. That said I haven't heard many songs by them, but Everlong is one of my all time faves.

And I think the lack of response to my Chilis Tour Dates thread also shows that most DS posters don't know good music if it slapped them on the arse. I'm booking my ticket for the Chilis standing area at the MEN ASAP on Saturday

Are you sure? are you getting confused with the band called Queen of the Stone Age, with which he drums.

tbh tho i havent been following the foos that much due to lack of a new album, which is taking ages to come!

Anyone watch the ch4 thing last night? any good? any new songs?

Dave Grohl did some of the guitar work on the Tenacious D album - not drums. And it is him playing the devil in the Tribute video - you can tell from the tattoos. Although the first time I watched it I was convinced it was Steve Buscemi (sp?) (Armageddon, Wedding Singer etc.)

I don't think a lack of replies about forthcoming gigs is a sign of people's musical tastes - as these posts are usually just flagging up a future event, there's not that much scope for conversation (as much as a blether about a record out that people have heard, say).

I quite like the Chili Peppers and the Foo Fighters, and would perhaps even go if they were playing anywhere near the gigless black hole that is Cheltenham!

The Foo Fighters are amazing, prolly my favourite band at the moment. Its my best friends that Ed E is talking about, and he is really looking forward to going!

Anyhow, i could never figure this out, but in The Sunna video for Power Struggle, is that Taylor playing the drums?

steve buscemi rules. he always plays (or comes across as a) nutter! In Con Air he's awesome.

From the Tenacious D sleeve notes. Dave Grohl plays:

drums on all tracks and guitar on tracks# 4,7,8,11,18,20,21

Going to see the foo's in manchester ... the channel 4 show was pretty cool, they played "all my life" from the new album "one by one" and some old classics like "learn to fly" and "breakout".

The Channel 4 prog. was good but too short! Dave Grohl is such a clown......always brings a smile to my face. He wished his 'mom' happy birthday at the end.....such a nice boy!
