Time to revive this thread I think.

After a bad start to BB, Imogen has had a good couple of weeks.

Of course, she's anonymous in the highlights to allow enough time to show another tedious Nikki tantrum or yet more boring Pete love-quadrangle nonsense. Nevertheless, Imogen is a more interesting character than she is given credit for and has been unfairly tainted by association with Grace and Sezer....IMO.

She won't win...she might not even survive much longer...but I'm liking her at the moment.

Here are some good Imogen threads:

The Imogen Diary Room 'rant' appreciation thread.

The only DR rant with its own appreciation thread.

Imogen - The biggest gameplayer in BB history!

Including an intreresting (if I do say so myself) discussion of Imogen's listening skills

Why am I beginning to like Imogen?

Includes a number of good posts (bluntbob's always worth reading). Here's one about Imogen's sympathetic way of listening:

She seems more interested in understanding what the person is saying rather than in dishing out advice .

Imogen crying yesterday

Imogen has admitted to Ash she didn't like her when she arrived 3 times

Sick of Richard's 'plastics' obsession and being anti Imogen

Includes this brilliant post:

If only the video shop had been out of "Mean Girls" that night and he had watched "Un Chien Andalou" instead, he might have become a vaguely interesting or even likeable person. At the very least he would be a dab hand with a razor blade.

*cleans out the gaffe and gets rid of the bottled water and MP3 players... sticks in leeks, beauty crowns and sashes*

◘Imogen from mouse to Lioness

Imogen oh Imogen... the House beauty who fell for the House Devil (in BB terms) Sezer...

She overcame this hurdle, thanks to the voting public and a nominations ban, and coped quite well with reintegrating with the House.

The Welsh lass then went renegade getting a further two nomination bans, as well has having the audacity to nominate Lea to her face.

But hey... that's not where my appreciation of the Welsh Lass began....

First of all she had her spectacular (in Imogen terms) anti-Richard rant, unlike many other HMs she sees through Dickie's veneer and is not fooled by his face-2-face niceness to her... she is quite capable of holding her own against Richard's apparently irrational dislike of her.

She then emerged from her shell... forming a tighter real relatioship with Nikki, and sort of seeing Grace for who she was... Lisa's confidante.

She went further up in my books when despite the protestations of certain other HMs , she was willing to see past the Sezer/Grace/Nikki planted anti-Aisleyne sentiment and befriend her... in one of the most real relationships in the House imo... one that is also not dependant on exclusivity and/or attention... an equal and refreshing non-game relationship.

As for the believers of 'boring Imogen'... as far as I can recall whenever she feels like she has a right to or is in involved with arguments sh ehas been perfectly capable of her holding her own. She refuses to be heavily influenced by any HM (learnt from her Sezer experience)... she does not allow any HM to influnence her ... she likes both nikki and Aisleyne.

The Pete factor... although Mikey and herself have tried to get to know Pete better they refuse to fawn over him like so many of the other HMs. ...

Oh yeah and I love her smile

The last remaining original female HM (who would've believed that after Sezer'z eviction!) from Sezer'z pawn to one of the most self aware and assertive remaining HMs...

A light amongst the angst.
A breath of fresh air on the Highlights.

A lioness amongst jackals and hyenas.

regards

wow! you've captured exactly why Imogen is such a great, although quiet, HM! My favourite now Nikki has gone

To me, a lot of the other HMs are boring because of their repetitiveness... that can't be said of Ims, she has made a journey in that house. A journey for the better, unlike that of Glyns!

She's also so unafraid to show her emotions, but does it quietly and privately, rather than doing it just to gain attention... she'll cry quietly, she'll go and cry into a pillow without disrupting anyone else.

and she is a briliant listener, shown twice on todays HLs, the first with Ais after her dispute with Spiral, the second time with Jayne after Nikki's eviction, despite being herself so genuinely upset. She doesn't feel the need to offer advice like Richard does, she just listens

I'm just happy more people are liking her, I have always seen the good in her, I hope she outlasts Richard just to see the look on his face.

Imogen for the final 4 please

We also need to see some of her pranks on the highlights, perhaps we will now Nikki has gone.

Imogen is a nice looking girl, and i dont think she is really that boring, its just the way the show is edited. But i think if she was to try any thing on with mikey it would be wrong as she seemed to be good mates with grace. I hope she stays longer than Richard!

Not sure if I've posted in this thread before, but in case not, count me in on the Ims love. I've really taken a shine to the girl recently, started after Grace left. Ash is still my fave, but I would be more than happy to see her in the final.

Its about time the HL showed the Ims that we've all seen on the LF.

Yes, and once I'd picked up on the way she listens I started noticing it again and again. Highlights shows often have a couple of instances, though seldom "highlighted" by the way the scene's presented. One of the few (partial) exceptions was in tonight's with Aisleyen. Aisleyne went out to the sunbathers in the garden specifically to get Imogen and take her aside for a chat.

She will offer advice or an opinion when asked, but she doesn't impose it.

The only other HM I've seeen listen in the same sort of way is (surprisingly) Grace (see the second half of that post (# 71))

You hadn't... you can see everybody who's posted on a thread by going to the main DS BB Forum page and clicking on the blue highlighted number of posts number on the right hand side of the screen... you will get a window come up giving you the name and number of posts of who has posted on a thread.

Imogen has often been criticed for her oral abilities, constant use of the 'F' word, copious use of 'babes' and 'totally'. I have to disagree, her oral skills seem first rate to my mind

Have to agree

We could have done with one of the BB professional camaramen though.

My neck and squint had only just recovered from the Paris and Abbi ones

(BTW just read top bit. Obviously I meant "ALLEGED " Video)
