Er, I already started a thread on this 2 or 3 subjects down. And it is at 10:30pm not 10!

Sorry my listings mag got it wrong. Episode one is on again tomorrow (Thursday) at 2.00PM and at 9.00PM, Episode 2 follows at 10.00PM. Twice a day thereafter it seems.

I'll carry on on this thread then, rather than having 2 threads going.

I enjoyed this too, though not as much as the Apprentice UK.

There are the usual mix of prats, idiots, know alls thrown in plus a couple of OK's. Watch out for Tim

I couldn't stand Martha Stewart though. What a cold fish she comes across as, and the product placement is horrendous. If I hear the words "Martha Stewart Omnimedia " once more, I'll scream. (but it is exec produced by Donald Trump, so subtlety is never going to enter into it. )

But it's very watchable, despite Martha and her scary daughter.

Go LaBella Martha!

Is it true she says "You're Toast" instead of "You're Fired" ?

No, she's an "hetiquette type" so she writes them a sickly letter after shaking their hand saying "Goodbye"

I watched it.
I think at least one of them is an actor - and if he isn't he should be he was that OTT!
I'm not sure if it's too nicey nicey for me.

Was it Hateful Jim? He does seem over the top but he is a genuine candidate. Some of them were taken from aplications to The Donalds version so they are businessy and I believe he is one of them, along with Amanda and Howie.

I have to agree with that - I started watching it but after two minutes, I gave up as it was so dire.

Nothing can be judged after just two minutes. It is not as good as the Trump and Sugar versions, but once you get into it it's quiet good. The interaction between Jim and some of the other candidates, a few episodes into the series, is worth watching. He has got to be the most annoying egocentric candidate ever in any 'The Apprentice' series.

Its not as good as the UK version but I have to admit to quite enjoying it. Martha Stewart comes across as too nice tho, wonder if she really wanders around stopping to talk to the staff as she passes by when the cameras arent there. The candidates are really irritating... there doesnt appear to be one genuine one among them.

Wonder if Sir Alan will adopt the letter to the fired candidate on his next series..... can just imagine it lol

Agreed. I cant believe I referred to him as Tim earlier.

Nor can I believe some of you are buying into Martha's carefully orchestrated Oscar winning "wholesome" image. It's totally false. That smile never reaches her eyes.

Read her life story and then see just how "nice" she really is. :confused"

Completely ruthless and totally focussed. You dont get to be a billionaire by being nicey nice.

I hope not! Why she does that I don't know, but it indicates she's scared to say it to their face.

I agree that you can't judge an entire programme after just two minutes - but I can normally tell if I'll enjoy a programme early on and in this case, it didn't interest me remotely.

Bet they'd be hilarious.

Although when he came out with that remark about his *ahem* hole, I'd be thinking he wrote them on toilet paper.

The whole programme may be a bit of a sham and he might be a frustrated thesp, despite all his denials, but I think Sir Al is a top bloke and makes the original US version look 2nd rate.

He's a natural for TV, I'd love to see him on The Dragon's Den

His version of The Apprentice knocks spots off that rip off that Richard Branson did. In fact, unusually for me, the Queen of Trash TV I only watched a couple of episodes.

That's rare. Heck, I watched every episode of Australian Princess and apart from wishing fervently that Paul Burrell would meet the same end as Mel Gibson in "Braveheart", (but even more slowly and painfully) it was so trashy it was funny.

watched it last night...very different feel to the other versions...all the guys seemed pretty effeminate except for howie, so it's a pretty nicey-nice series...nowhere near as dramatic as the other versions, but still enjoyable

Yes - and I expect the first few pages would be full of obscenities! I think things would improve as time went by and he got rid of the "lightweights", but it would be some classic correspondence anyway!

Mark Burnett who created The Apprentice franchise and controls the format, wanted to differentiate the Martha Stewart version from the Donald Trump one by not using the 'You're Fired' catchphrase in her version and having her write the person fired a letter. The Alan Sugar version largely follows the Trump version in format and Sugar has to use the 'You're Fired' catchphrase.

In my opinion, I don't think that was a very good idea of his and I'm not surprised the series didn't last very long! To be honest, I can't see what else you'd say other than "you're fired" or for the UK, maybe "you're sacked" but it's the best way to get rid of them, surely?!

I didn't like this series at first either - but knowing how much I love the Trump and Sugar versions I stuck with it, and I've really warmed to it. I still can't beleive that Jim missed the birth of his baby for a tv show !!
