I assume ou are referring to connecting up a portable mp3 player rather than playing a CD recorded with mp3 tracks?
Doesn't the unit have a set of Audio and Video connections on the front panel? Presumably you could hook your mp3 player up to the audio connections and select what I think JVC call the F-1 input. You would need a lead probably with mini-jack at one end and a pair of phonos at the other. Just plug into the headphone socket of the mp3 player and set the volume to somewhere round mid range to start off. As for the fan. It probably would not be a good idea to turn it off as it is preventing the unit cooking itself! If the fan runs all the time that suggests a lack of ventilation. Make sure there is free air flow all round the unit and that no ventilation slots are covered over. |

There is a real problem with this unit in that, according to JVC, it will only accept an audio input that is combined with video. I tried using a digital converter on the ipod & then inputting via optical into the JVC but no luck.
Re: The Fan The only way of preventing it being on all the time is to connect SAT via VIDEO RGB & not SAT RGB. The fan is not thermostatic so it is on continously. |
