Pioneer DVR and Guideplus

Using the Guideplus system on a Pioneer DVD recorder connected to an external box, i.e. cable, is it possible to setup manual timer recordings which will cause the external box to change channel via the G-link cable - or does this only work for recordings set through the Guideplus EPG ?

It will work for manual recordings, however I think it's best to do it via the Guide system anyway even if you don't use the EPG.

I'm not at the box right now but IIRC if you set up a manual timer then you can only do it in intervals of 15 minutes. Also, the channel number defaults to Tuner 001 which you can't change at that screen. You therefore have to go into Guide afterwards where your manual timer will show up on the Guide+ Schedule. There you can edit the timings and the channel number.

So you might as well add a manual timer from the Guide+ screen in the first place because there you'll be able to set the exact times and source/channel number right from the start.

hi

dont know if anybody can help me with problem but i am strugleing to connect all my equipment together

i have a pionneer pdp436xde plasma and media box with built in freeview box and sky +

ai am trying to coneect this to my pioneer dvr530h-s dvd recorder

i can connect the sky=box no problem and the epg works fine and chanle changes work ok

however when i try to set up the freeview box in the same way it just dosent seem to work

can anybody help me with this
