I'd like to see Davros in a future episode, purely because I didn't like the Emperor of the Daleks much and I think he's better.

But saying that, I think the Cybermen, K-9 and Sarah Jane are enough 'old friends' for one season, and the Daleks need a rest for a while.

If Davros could be returned to the scary, skeletal figure he was originally as opposed to the slightly pathetic and predictable pink blancmange he became in the end, I'd have no problem with him popping up again...but yeah, enough nods to the old series already, keep on with the new

Do I want Davros to come back? Hmmm I'd have to say on balance the answer is no. (I'm guessing that's enough words, as all I wanted to post was no!)

One of the biggest hurdles would be how is he still alive? I am sure it is not insurmountable though.”

Actually it might be interesting to do a pre-Dalek Davros story. It could start with him as a fairly well meaning scientist - and sort of track how he changed into the sort of chap who would create the Daleks.

If a decent one off story can be done that features Davros can be developed then it would be good to see him back for a final appearance. The problem with Davros is he immediately disempowers his creations the minute he appears.

Who would you suggest to play The Master now?
Anthony Ainley has sadly been gone since the 3rd of May 2004

I liked the idea of the various factions of Daleks so would hope that Davros would return as the leader of one of them.
The Daleks on their own are pretty much just foot soldiers and they need a general to dictate their actions

Well whoever it is will never fill the shoes of the original Master, Roger Delgado.

But i would want an excellent, top class actor for the role. We're talking someone with gravitas, a la McKellen, Gambon, Jacobi or Rickman.

Yes BG I agree, but this is not in any way a criticism of Davros. It is in the nature of the Daleks, that they should have no master, and serve no one other than themselves. They are the Supreme Beings of the Universe, that was always the point, that was how they were originally created to be.

I do wonder if we have already seen Davros - that bloke Adam in the first serious was left with a third eye in the centre of his forehead - knowledge of time travel and the Daleks - bit of a time loop but.....................

Shame Anthony Head is out of the equation now - he'd have been perfect!

Do you think Max Von Sydow would be up for it?”

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't he the guy what played the 'devil' in Stephen King's tv adaption for Needful Things??

He played the Emperor Ming in Flash Gordon the Movie.
Played it very well too I might add. Yes he could play the Master, but I fear he is out of the BBC's league.
Personally I would like Gary Oldman to play the part, but I think he is equally out of the Beebs grasp.
