Asda Durabrand PTV-7017 Service Menu Questions...
Does anyone know what all the abbreviations mean in Asda's Durabrand PTV-7017 28" CRT Service Menu? I'd like to be able to do the following, if possible:-
1. Tweak the colour balance a bit - it needs 'warming' up. 2. Enable the sharpness control to actually work when viewing an RGB source. 3. Adjust the AVL effect. Thanks! Kev |

With the TV on, press Menu then 4725 on the remote control. Leave the Service menu by pressing the TV button on the remote, which also saves your settings.
Setting up geometry is straightforward enough:- In the service menu press the green button. There will be a different set of geometry figures for each mode which can be selected with the mode button "=x" (second button up on the right). Fix the wrong 14:9 mode thus: Select 14:9 with the mode button and adjust VSIZ and VPOS to get true 14:9 to fill the screen vertically. Adjust HSIZ and HPOS to get correct geometry. There will be black lines left and right which is correct. Further geometry settings are as follows. VSCO and VCCO can be used to get equal geometry from top to bottom, and if you have a TV-out facility on your PC graphics card then displaying a page of letters can help here. In Cine mode, VZSIZ alters vertical zoom to get correct aspect ratio for that mode. It has no effect in 4x3 and 16x9. Not sure about the other two modes. HPIN and HCCO control pincushion adjustment and HTRP controls trapesium adjustment. Incidently, the “subtitles” screen mode is next to useless as normal teletext subtitling displays on the displayable picture. Some colour settings:- WG = White Point Adjust for RED WG = White Point Adjust for GREEN WB = White Point Adjust for BLUE BR = Bias for RED BG = Bias for GREEN ------------------------------------------------- But I STILL need to figure out how to:- 1. Tweak the colour balance a bit - the overall picture needs 'warming' up. Are there controls for the blue, green and red colours? 2. Enable the sharpness control to actually WORK when viewing an RGB source. 3. Adjust the AVL effect for more sound levelling Any help anyone? |
