Orange out here?
Mr_Tart

Hi,

Anyone who has signed up for the original orange out here (£15 and get 5 free texts a day) still got the box and/or the paperwork that came with it?

I just got a letter from orange telling me from Nov 1st it will be reduced to 3 texts per day. If i do not like this I can cancel and get a full £15 refund. I think this is a breach of contract, although I cannot be sure. Wasn't the original deal for 5 free texts a day for life???

Any help appreciated.

Matt

Um... don't know about breach of contract, but I've got an orange over here if you want it. Heck, I've got a whole bowlful!

Sorry bout that, but if you ask a question about Internet and Telecoms in GD, you're gonna get a stupid answer!

On a serious note, I doubt they are breaching contract. These contracts are usually water tight, and there's always clauses in there that ultimately mean they can do what the hell they like!

Clauses like this make T's&C's and Service Level Agreements worth absolutley nothing.

I got this letter too. There isnt much you can do about it really. Im not gonna bother getting the refund - as i will still be saving "more than £100 on the cost of texting".

I had seen in the shops a few weeks ago that new customers will now be charged £20 per year for the service. I suppose Orange only just noticed how much £££ they are looosing.

But i do think that present customers that have, say, been a user for more than 8 months should have the service they paid for and new customers get what they have changed it to.

I was quite alright with it until I read the bit that says that the refunded £14.99 had to be used within a month, I think that's a bit of a cheek. I do realise there is nothing we can do about it though and that it still saves money over all. I'm not quite sure if existing users are being spared the annual charge every year or just this year.

I read it that we don't have to pay an annual charge, we just drop to 3 texts a day.........for now anyway!

Bit of a bugger as I only got PAYG to use Out here!!
