I dialled 1471 to see who had called when I got in earlier today and the last number was simply '90401'. I've never known anything like this come up on 1471 before. Can't be a new range of local numbers as they always include the area code even for local numbers. Anyone any idea?

I've had 2 calls this week with numbers like 10221 coming up on my caller display - they were both cold calllers trying to sell me something.

Amazingly, they probably seriously think someone receiving one of their cold calls will buy something when they send a bogus CLI.

Not all people know who is calling before they pick up the call

It's probably just a spoof CLID, BT usually flag these as unavailble cable systems seem to let them through, this has the added affect cable lines usually display international numbers whereas BT hide them.

No, but with BT giving the CLID service for free, you'd think more people would subscribe to it. Especially as I have caller display units to sell!
