Does anyone else have one of these DVD recorders? I bought mine about 18 months ago and have had nothing but problems with it since day one. But lately it's just gone nuts - it's corrupting about every second disc I put into it. I'm just at my wit's end at this stage. One of my mate's bought the same machine at the same time I did and he ended up ****ing his into the bin after about a month as he was having so many problems too. I'm thinking of doing the same. Will NEVER buy a Philips product again. Think I'll buy a new SONY one... Am annoyed.

I have bought four Philips DVr and DVP units.
DVR615 requred a number of firmware upgrades to sort out bugs. Working fine now.
DVP player no 1 had bugs requiring firmware upgrade- took it back.
DVP 5100player no 2 showed inhibit signal randomly on playback - download didn't fix it. Daughter has it now. Good performer now.
DVP5900 HD upscaler player no 5.1 sound on digital with HD output, purple hued picture and some erroneous message when asked to play.
Firmware upgrades available. Couldn't be bothered anymore, took it back and bought a Sony.
I will never buy Philips again, they are bound to be faulty.
To think shops up and down the country have shelves full of faulty Philips gear.
